I'm both nerdy and vegan. Into Marvel, Star Wars, etc. I also watch philosophy vids.

Not running, but walking in it. I guess I'm kind of used to it because I'll walk outside in anything less than a downpour. That's H-Town for you!

I am the youngest in my family and I am taller than my sisters and my mom at 5'10". My maternal grandfather, however, was about 6'4". He was from northern Germany.

Zucchini, bok choy and anything with a texture like jello.

Hi. Vegan as well and I have an open diary. Feel free to add.

I do both. I prefer biking by big margin, but I also walk and jog just to mix it up. I say do what you like! And if you don't want to work out on the weekends, that is cool. Everyone needs recovery days.

I prefer the stationary bike. I have some issues with my knees, but even when I didn't I was never a runner. I've always preferred cycling and walking outdoors. As many have said, do whatever like because you have a better chance of sticking with exercise you enjoy.

Me. I either create recipes with weighed individual ingredients or add the individual weighed ingredients. I wouldn't depend on database entries being accurate.

I drink champagne on the weekend and work into my calories. If I'm going to drink anything, I want it to be something I really enjoy.

Seitan, aka wheat meat. 29 g protein in 4 ounces.

5' 10 currently 198. I've lost 6 pounds in two weeks. I do a little weight training but mostly I'm into cycling. Feel free to add!

Question...are you steaming your tempeh before you use it in a recipe? I normally steam it first for about 15 minutes to get the bitterness out. I think you can also just simmer it in water for a few minutes to do the same.

I'm 58 and I have no issues with losing weight with MPF. I've been active most of my life, and I have some pain in my knees, so I do exercise that accommodates it. OP, there is no difference losing weight at any age. Use MPF and track your calories. Buy a food scale and weigh all of your foods. You can do it!

I pre-log every day. For one thing I cook a lot, so I always have leftovers for lunch that I can add for the next day. For another, even if tweak it a bit pre-logging helps be stay on goal. I don't log exercise in advance because I've been known to be lazy now and again.

If you freeze it you can grate it easily using a rasp and measure it. It also keeps it fresh for longer. I use it all the time in Asian/Indian cooking.

So sad for the victims. I'm glad to see at least one of these snake oil sales people get put away, at any rate.

This is how I feel about it. I have friends with all sorts of religious beliefs, and I don't talk about it unless someone asks. I like to say I'm ambivalent about religion. So long as no one is trying to convince me to believe I'm good.
-
Me too. I am an atheist and a humanist. Feel free to add me as a friend.

I second Rich Roll's book. I'm a vegan but not a triathlete. Right now I'm trying to get back in shape to start cycling again.

Dark Chocolate most days. Usually a couple of squares does it for me.
-
I eat the more at night because I work out at night and have dinner afterwards. I've never been a big breakfast fan, so I eat less calories in the morning.
-
Cocoa-banana protein shake. Gotta have my chocolate in the morning! And coffee.

I'm doing 30 minutes on my stationary bike 6 days a weeks right now along with some weight training. I am trying to build my endurance so I can get back on a real bike again. Cycling is what I enjoy so it makes it easier to commit time to it.
-
Yep. I'm all in for Cookie Butter over Nutella.
-
I work out at night after I get off work. Then I cook and eat dinner which means I have very little idle time at night. It works like a charm for me.
-
I love me some kettlebells.

You still have to track calories no matter what type of food you are eating or what diet plan you are on if you are trying to lose weight. I've had a mostly plant-based diet for 15 years or so and I can promise you that tracking calories will make all of the difference in your weight loss.

I have been a vegetarian for about 20 years and I am mostly vegan now. I have a lot of vegan cookbooks and often post recipes in my diary which is open to friends. I would love more vegetarian/vegan friends for support.
