Net is food less exercise calories earned. Yesterday I ate 1700 and I earnt 500 through exercise so my net calories was 1,200. If you do a lot of exercise it is important as it can be easy to drop below nett 1,200 if you are following a strict meal plan. I did that for 2 months last year, I ate 1200 as per my set meal plan…

It won't recognise that you have hit goal just that your weight is lower. You need to change you weight loss goal to maintain.

I get what you mean, I seem to bounce back up to the same weight approx 90kg, I've gone a few kgs over but never for long. Each time I get down to 80kg I stall and slide back up again. I was doing a online nutritional type course and one lecture was talking about your set point, the weight your body naturally fluctuates…

I have done the program, I am still obese though I am less obese than I used to be. I skipped quickly through the first few weeks as I wasnt really a beginner, the middle weeks I struggled to make much progress. It was a great way to get started and keep being pushed to do that bit better. I had moved on to the 10k program…

For me exercise makes my period finish quicker. I used to get really bad cramps and clotting so it was much better to get it over and done with. Since having kids my cramps and clotting have gone but I find that if I laze around my period will often stop and then restart a day or 2 later esp if I go from lazing around to…

For me its alone time, kids are not generally welcome on my runs. I listen to music, daydream etc. My weightlifting, well I do get company for those workouts from time to time. But weightlifting is more about results for me. I like that my arms are getting some definition.

I work full time at a desk job but with 3 kids I average 7k steps a day not including exercise. I am seriously at 2k steps by the time I get to work (and I drive to work). But if your happy with the rate your losing, the amount of food you are getting and arent completely exhausted I'd stick with what you've been doing.…

I had a friend who went for an ultrasound to check for a cyst, they found a baby she was about 16weeks preg. She was still getting periods which was probably why they skipped the preg test.

I have never seen a direct correlation in BF% & BMI although I guess there is some logical formula behind it though I think 23 & 23% is a bit of a fluke though. It makes sense that for most people a higher BMI indicates a higher BF% though it wouldnt be 1 for 1. My BMI is 31.2 and BF% about 37-38%, calculators can put me…

Multiplying your current weight in pds might give you an estimate for a certain activity level, another multiplier might need to be used for another activity level. Eg my pds by 13 = 2374 An online cal for 1-3 days exercise 2179 An online cal for 3-5 days exercise 2456 I know I am lightly active the majority of the time,…

Heaps of people will tell you they are inaccurate, some will say they can give you a trend some will say they aren't even good for that. I use mine for trending, for me it can help me judge water retention, a wildly diff % result indicates I am retaining fluid or dehydrated.

I have a Fitbit surge and have found it to be accurate compared to the hrm they use at the blood bank. But I don't use it to guide my exercise, I look at it afterwards. I have found that for me an extra push for speed can dramatically affect how far I can run (not linear). I use breathing/effort as a guide. Like many have…

Vodka & soda with fresh lime. I get mine put in pints to make it last longer .

I did a few months last year where I tracked my cals burnt and cals eaten while following a very strict food plan. I cant comment on its accuracy as it turned out I had thyroid issues which would have affected my actual burns but I did find that it helped produce a consistent weight loss over a period of 12 weeks. I used…

My cycles have been irregular & light previously when cutting cals and exercising hard. I have a short cycle (25 day) incl a short (3days) but very heavy period (changing tampons every 2-3 hours for up to 2 days). I find that exercising during my period helps, if I dont exercise sometimes its a bit stop/start these days.…

I've been shoo'd out of an asian clothing store in Australia!

I am presuming this was a troll. First and only post this one and nothing since. I can see someone being told they look 10 or even 20 pds lighter than they actually weigh but 50pds seriously! Unless they are at least 7ft tall I doubt it.

I mix up cardio and strength. I do strong lifts 5x5 probably only twice a week sometimes 3. I am following a training program for a 12km run, the program has 1 long run and 2 shorter runs each week. Monday- Stretch & Strength (I do stronglifts 5x5 plus some core and lots of stretching) Tuesday- Easy pace run building up to…

I am assuming while you have 3 apps running none are synced with MFP. You average just over 11k steps over the course of the week. If you arent planning on syncing any devices to do the adj for you, then personally I would put somewhat active. It gives you a little cushion for logging inaccuracies while still taking into…

Well I did in a healthy but unsustainable for me way but I am obese. You however are already within your healthy BMI range, you might be able to lose 20pds in 3 months but maybe not in a healthy way.
-
MFP it will only give you exercise calories after fitbit's prediction of your cal burned for the day exceeds MFP calculation of what calories you will burn for the day. So if you set MFP as sedentary and you are lightly active you will see exercise calories added from early on in the day. Personally I have mine set to…

I had a pair of dress shorts I wore to work and when I first got them I was wearing spanx under them. I wore them not long ago it was to the point where they hung low and the *kitten* was sagging (I have a huge bum so this never happens). They have now gone to live in the top cupboard for when I get round to cleaning out…

I initially lost heaps of weight off my waist and then it plateaued. My arms however have remained stubbornly the same though I have got some muscle peeking up from under the fat. They look nicer even if they havent changed size. For me it seems to come off one area at a time with little movement in other areas at the same…

You dont think you look like you weigh 145pds as you think you look smaller than that, but your goal is 110 pounds because you like your weight at 110pds. I am not saying you should be a certain weight for your height, you are currently at the top of your BMI range and I totally get that you want to move down (past low…

You didn't mention if riding was a new activity if the distance was greatly increased over a short period of time. I find that after a extra big workout that I retain fluid/water weight (for muscle repair). It usually takes 2-3 days to pass if its a one off big day (while drinking copious amounts of water). ATM I have just…

Realistically the scale needs to drop some more for me, but that being said I have more of a size goal. I reckon I know roughly what that will be in kilos and chances are that will a bigger number than someone would think I weigh (I have been reluctant to tell people my weight since highschool, I was by no means fat and I…

I think @BeYouTiful94 has summed it up pretty well for you in terms of what does what. I have the surge (cause I wanted built in GPS) but it is bulky and the rubber band has worn in some areas and split underneath. Works fine though and I got an extended warranty so I am not too worried about it. Love that I can read a…

I dont have an apple watch but I was wondering one is showing you net calories and one is gross. What I mean here is you mentioned you got 600 calories from a 40 min jog. That 600 might include your BMR calories (the amount of calories you would have burnt sitting on the couch for 40 mins). MFP has already taken into…

You can unlink the fitbit from MFP if you dont want the adjustments to be pushed through. I presume you log food on MFP since you get your goal calories from there.

For me strength training brings on appetite more than cardio (which sometimes zaps my appetite). Strength is usually a morning workout so I choose more protein over carbs (eggs over toast).
