It's a deal breaker. I'm currently looking at a few other apps. It's a shame because I've used MFP for years, but I'm outta here as soon as I find something that works.

There are various online groups out there that I found helpful. A few on FB for instance. The hardest things for me were the hot flashes, the brain fog, and the insomnia. Being so tired meant exercise went out the window for me. I couldn't get estrogen because there's a family history of breast cancer, but I did take Black…

My experience with peri menopause was that it was a wild ride. I am finally done and I feel like I found myself again. It’s taking me longer to lose the weight this time, but it is slowly coming off. You may want to look into supplements to help with some of the symptoms (consulting with your gyn of course).

Thanks, everyone! This was very helpful.

If I don’t track my food, I wildly underestimate my calories and I gain weight. That is why I am here. Yet again, I am here.

I agree with the others about tracking your calorie intake. If I stop doing that, everything goes wrong for me. I try to eat all my allotted calories and generally eat half of what I earned from exercise. I allow for life. Like this week has been chaotic because of a personal family emergency and I probably should be…

For some reason artificial sweeteners are a trigger for me and migraines so I went from regular pop to seltzer water. Ended up buying a soda stream for this purpose, but I know they make seltzer water with natural flavorings.

This time? No one. I got a couple of comments from coworkers saying I was looking good. One person asked if I was trying to lose weight. I just said thank you to both of them and kept walking. I feel like when I tell people I either get sabotaged or I start feeling guilty when my progress slows. When I go see my GP for my…

For me, it usually starts with the no scale victories like my clothes being not so tight, fitting better, stuff like that. I am really bad about taking photos, but as others have said that's one way to do it. Also tracking measurements.

I make my instant oatmeal packets. Some days I do an apple with 1tbsp of peanut butter or a cup of blueberries with some ricotta.

I am getting back into MFP after some time away and already I have come across the issue with picking the wrong entry for the food I'm eating. A slice of cake bought from a national grocery store chain is listed multiple places in as 320 calories. I double checked it from the label--it should be 560 calories. So double…

Thanks everyone. I'll look into these other options you all suggested.

There are systematic reviews that support the use of zinc lozenges for cutting the severity/length of a cold. My doctor, who has no use for homeopathic anything, recommends them. Otherwise, you're doing what you can. I swear by chicken soup, orange juice, a lot of tea, a lot of water. Salt water rinses are good.

Based entirely on the reaction of the contestants on one episode of The Great British Bakeoff, I'm going with it's not a thing in the UK. The contestants were all perplexed by it and totally baffled by the cake tin (you cool it upside down). Properly made it's delicious and light. Usually I've served/had it with berries…

I love it, especially if it's homemade angelfood cake.

If you're still looking for friends, let me know. I was going great guns, but managed to regain so much weight. Starting at taking it off again.

I have always had insomnia, but it's so much worse than it used to be. I wake up with every hot flash.

THIS. I am a huge advocate of therapy. The therapist has no agenda other than to listen to you and to help you. It sounds like you've got a lot going on here and maybe this is the first step.

No, you are not overreacting. He is in the wrong here. This is not how partners should support one another. You are not alone.

Why would you cut this out? It's a part of life. I'm treating this journey as a lifestyle change. I enjoy good food. I like eating at nice restaurants, especially with friends. I refuse to give up going out to eat once in a while. It's doable. You don't need to drag a food scale with you. You don't have to limit yourself…

I'd try it. I got turned on to mashed turnips and I now prefer them to mashed potatoes.

Bourbon, ice, a glass.

From what I am hearing as I talk to other women, it's just like menstruation in that everyone has a different experience.

It worked out well! Got the garlic rosemary chicken. Had 1 breadstick. Skipped the salad because it didn't look all that appetizing anyhow.
-
This is my issue too. I would much rather eat at an independently owned restaurant pretty much any day over a chain place.

The stuff about food deserts is accurate. This can mean that within say, your zip code, there is absolutely no place you can go to buy fruits and vegetables. There have also been plenty of instances where the prices are higher in low-income neighborhoods. People who don't have cars or who are dependent on public…

It looks like there's mayo in it and I just don't like that (I don't care whether it's made from scratch, what brand it is, Miracle Whip, doesn't matter). But it doesn't matter. If I can get it without, I'm good. This has been very helpful.
-
Okay. None of the soups appeal. I'll skip the salad if I can't get it without dressing. Thanks. I think I can find something from this menu.
-
Thanks! Do you know if the entrees come with soup or salad or those breadsticks? I have a tight amount of calories for today and while I occasionally go over if I think it's worth it--I am not anxious to waste them on this place (now if we were going out for Thai...)

I use real butter. Always. I haven't had margarine in decades. I buy it, freeze it, take one stick out and it lives in the fridge. Unless I have a recipe where it calls for softened butter. These days it goes much further as I use less of it than I used to.
