@globalhiker I like that message, thank you! I need to get back on the healthy eating bandwagon as well. My DH is going away for 2 weeks on Wednesday so it will be a good time to do a reset with both food and alcohol. Good luck with the PT.

@dawnbgethealthy congrats on the job. I also adore Indian food. @kelagurl I have low level depression/anxiety and when I drink more than I should (like last night) I wake up around 2 or 3 am feeling extremely anxious and my thoughts cycle through every negative memory I can conjure up. When I drink less the anxiety is not…

@Womona great job on reaching goal! That must feel wonderful.

Well grilled cheese sounds good at any hour of the day @mainelylisa. Good job resisting. I resisted topping off my martini last night, first time in a bit, so feeling much more clear today.

Second night (last night) with a slightly smaller drink. The good news is that I have no fuzzy memories of either night. The bad news is that I had trouble sleeping. I'll take it. Seems like a lot of folks on this thread are doing a great job achieving their goals. I think in the past I was hesitant to post because I was…

@mainelylisa thank you for taking over the thread! I read daily but rarely post. It is super helpful and I appreciate those of you who post regularly. I have not had an AF night in a long while but in the last few weeks have found that if I cut the size of my drink down it makes a huge difference in terms of no fuzzy…

Great job on the 10 days. So sorry to hear about the mammogram results. I hope the in depth testing will be negative.
-
Wow that is fantastic @MissMay.

Enjoy the weekend @WinoGelato - with all those AF days you are doing great. I am sure you will not get "stupid" @MissMay. My sleep is terrible these days because one of my dogs has heart problems and gets me up to be comforted almost every night, but drinking a bit less means I still feel better in the morning than I was.…

Well another night, the third, with just one (large) drink and no refills and feeling much better despite poor sleep. If I can keep this up for a bit then decrease the size of my drink I will be happy for now. Then to add some AF nights. Can someone tell me the easiest way to respond to posts without copying the whole…

Thanks for the reassurance Womona and Miss May. I did have a martini last night but did not go back and pour more. I feel much better this morning than I did yesterday after overdoing it on Sunday. I am going to try for an AF night one night this week.

I have posted here a couple of times but tend to disappear. I think the idea of being accountable scares me, as does the success of many of the participants. I'd like to start having an AF day now and then and stop over drinking when I partake.

Thanks for the welcome MissMay. I did have more than planned last night and I see how different I feel today than yesterday. Need to keep working on sticking to my plan. I appreciate this thread.

Jumping in here although I have been reading for a while. This thread is very inspiring. Last night I thought of all of your posts when I was tempted to have more than I planned (2 gin and tonics). I wanted to be able to post this morning and say that I had not poured a little "extra." My short term goal is to stick to…

Thanks shanaber I will check that out!

I think I am giving up on the ticker. I updated it by adding today's run but when I did a cut and paste and previewed it said 2 miles instead of 4. Today was my second run since last August, another 2+ miles, so I am at 4. I can't be exact because my iPhone keeps dying when I try to use the mapmyrun app! Time for a new…

Ok I am trying to figure out the tickerfactory thing. Do I have to update on their website every run then post here? Thanks.

Ran 2 miles yesterday, first run since last August. It was tough but felt good. Plan to run again tomorrow and Thursday. Want to ease back into it.
-
I have not run since last August but this thread is inspiring. Was just about to pop out and try a mile or two but we are under a severe thunderstorm warning so will either do that in a bit or tomorrow. Goal for June is 25 miles. Seems small compared to others but I will be happy if I achieve it.

I will look for the May thread as well. I have been reading everyone's posts and find a lot of inspiration and support. I have also been listening to podcasts at rachelhart.com - her site was mentioned on this thread and she does a really good job talking about urges, etc. I have the occasional AF day and would like to…

You look fantastic. Very pretty and great progress!

Fantastic job! I made a plan to get serious tomorrow so it was great to read your success story now to give me a kick in the pants! Great job.
