I am in.

Hi @Holidays22. I read this thread most days and I was following yours as well although my focus is on reducing alcohol rather than eliminating it. I think there are some people on this thread who are AF, though most seem to be focused on reduction. I got a lot out of your thread and am sorry you felt you needed to take it…

@ahoy_m8 so sorry to hear all you have been dealing with, and now your mother’s death. You really need some time to decompress. I hope you can do that soon. hugs.
-
@tmbg1 sorry you are feeling sad about the college drop-off and dealing with other issues. Hope you feel better soon. @MissMay great job limiting yourself to one glass. @joans1976 good job skipping the alcohol department! I was supposed to have my procedure last week and after being AF for 6 days it was cancelled that…

Wow, @dawnbgethealthy you look great! And the pictures of the lake etc. are beautiful.
-
@joans1976 so sorry to hear the vacation is cancelled but glad you are still taking time off! Sometimes a staycation can be super relaxing.
-
@ahoy_m8 being AF during the week is an achievement with everything you have going on. You must be exhausted. Glad you are feeling more at peace with things. Hang in there!
-
@missmay, congratulations on the impending sale - how exciting! The AF drink looks great. I have been drinking some of the Lyre’s spritz’s this week. The G&T and Amalfi ones are delicious.
-
My first husband struggled with alcohol and (we divorced) I believe his premature death was caused by it. I also don't want to follow in those footsteps!
-
Thanks @missmay. I realize I was not clear. It was hard for me the last couple of nights because my dh was having a drink while I was not because of my upcoming procedure. He actually offered to skip the cocktail and I told him he didn't have to. He likes to have a before dinner drink and generally does, but can always…

It is harder to abstain when you live with someone who is not! I took one sip to see what I was missing but decided to stay the course. Last time I did a bunch of AF days (8), he was out of town. It was easier. @missmay we lived in FL for 15 years. With your gardening skills you will adapt quickly. We did lots of cactus…

@joans1976, great job on all those AF days this month.
-
@lmlmrn thanks for the feedback on sleep. I had terrible sleep again last night, in part because my cats decided 3 am - 5 am was a good time for zooms throughout the house! I still feel better than when I drink too much though. @Womana, I will be AF until Thursday as well since that is the day of my procedure. I also feel…
-
@dawnbgethealthy oh no! I hope you feel better now. I know you have a low tolerance.
-
Wow, lots of success on the thread! I have been AF the last two nights but really because I am prepping for a procedure. My real goal is to cut down on the amount I drink. I must admit that although I had lots of trouble falling asleep the last two nights, I feel a bit more calm and rested this morning. Something to think…

In for August! I like the idea of making a commitment to ourselves.
-
Yum, that sounds like an amazing salad. Enjoy your time away.
-
@lmlmrn I like that saying about becoming water. Thank you for that!
-
@dawnbgethealthy thanks. Because of timing/entertaining out of town guests it will actually be 6.5 days AF. I did 8 a year ago so I know I can do it. It's actually a little harder because my dh is here. Last time he was away. He never over drinks but it's our habit to have a before dinner drink or two, then cook/eat. We'll…

I also had a bad bike accident in my teens, although I am in my 60s now. I bought a new bike last year but I ride mostly on trails near my home and always with a helmet. I am trying to remember my phone as well just in case. The main risks on my rides come from some of the super competitive riders and people speeding by on…
-
@globalhiker sorry to hear about the bike accident! Hope your husband heals quickly.
-
Wow, it seems like so many on this thread are doing so well! I cannot say I am making the progress I would like and I have a bit of a challenge ahead. I am having some skin surgery next month and the doc's instructions say no alcohol for 7 days. This will be the first time I have had that long of a break in more than a…

Hi @joans1976 there is a new thread every month. Miss May posts the link so watch out for it. Welcome!
-
I'm in for June.
-
Welcome @ajanet1007. This is a great group.
-
@Breathe57103 so, so sorry to hear about your husband. Cannot imagine how hard it has been for you. Glad you have come back to this thread for support!
-
@lmlmrn so sorry about the dishwasher and the other aggravation!
-
@Lilylady3k I like your M-TH AF mentality. I struggle to get any AF days. Today will be one because I have pre-op bloodwork tomorrow morning. I always worry when I have to get bloodwork done. That is another reason I want to drink less, so I don't have to worry about the results.
-
@MissMay I also love the hat, very happy!
-
@lmlmrn would love to see the painting!
