These are all great ideas! Thanks for sharing.

Good morning -- 54/m here and all this staying at home and teleworking has led to putting on about 20 pounds! If they called me back in today, I am not sure I'd fit into a suit. Anyone else seen a gain with so much time at home?

1900 cal for dinner last night. That's not an exaggeration. And then I still feel disappointed this morning when I step on the scale and see my numbers have gone up. Why do I sabotage myself? Why do I meet my goals for bfast and lunch, and then kill them by dinner? And it's mindless eating, too. As we're cooking, as we're…

Outdoor running is much harder. Your feet hit the pavement differently than a cushioned treadmill, and the ground does not automatically move at a set mph. I love outdoor running, but as I've gotten older, I have started to run inside during the winter months. I've slipped on icy roads perhaps 10x, and it's always with a…

Success on all 3 today!

This was a rough week on the road. Work stress, little sleep, poor food choices -- and the pizza and beer for dinner last night when I went out with the wife have all resulted in my feeling toxic this morning. Today is a day for water and a long walk in the unseasonably warm temperatures. Tomorrow, I re-set.

To button my jeans without sucking in my stomach!

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes -- long run. Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes. Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes, and under the goal. But craving chocolate.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes -- eliptical for 20, then lifting. Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes -- under 346. Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes, even the cookie I had while I was getting a haircut.

Exercise: Yes, 60 minute run. Track: Yes. Calorie count: No. Over +86. Damn hard pretzels.
-
Jan 2 Ex: 20 minutes eliptical plus 10 minutes yoga. Tracked: Yes. First time in months I've tracked. Calories: Under 16.

I read the posts and am intrigued by the challenge. And since I am starting on Day 2, I have already used up my first Pass. But for Jan 1: Exercise: yes, 5 mile run Calories: fairly confident I was way over Tracked: No.

Sounds like a great new year's to me!

Love the challenge. I want to lose 28, and then do some fine tuning after that. My vices of wine and chocolate, coupled with traveling for work, seriously interfere with my goals. Starting weight: 208 Goal weight: 180 Current weight: 208 Total weight lost: This week's successes: This week's challenges: I am married to a…

I'm impressed with your logging of just 8! I thought they didn't count if you didn't finish the bag....

Admittedly, I do not know your circumstances, i.e., diabetes, or worries about blood sugar. But like good coffee and great wine, a lovely piece of chocolate has room in the calorie count as long as you are mindful of it.

No idea where my original post is, but here's the update: Starting weight: 208.5 Goal weight: 200 26 Dec: 212 27 Dec: 211 28 Dec: 209 While I may not hit my goal by 12/31, I would hope to at least be below my starting point!

Hello -- I've made requests to a few of you, and I am looking for others who consistently track and post and share their progress. The motivation you offer as you openly share your thoughts is invaluable. Thanks to all!
-
Well said, and I agree with you both!

Congrats to all who have gone down! I seem to be going the other way, as I am up 3 pounds for the month. Being married to a thin wife with a quick metabolism is hard.

The only thing that precluded a huge weight balloon was this…

Sounds wonderful to me. How bright are your eyes? How witty is your brain? Do you have a mischievous smile? Are you kind? That's what counts.

Another move, another new apartment. And with that, the realization that I really let myself go this summer. Anyone else chasing after a lean body going into the holidays?

So I've decided to lose the same 15 pounds, again, for probably the 10th time. It just has a way of sneaking back on when I stop paying attention, and then suddenly, I get out of breath trying to tie my shoes. I did a nice, slow morning run this morning, followed by some gentle stretching. And I'm off to the grocery store…

I'd love to hear tips on dealing with insomnia. Some days I just wake up at 3 and cannot get back to sleep. At the moment, the instant pot is making hard boiled eggs, and I'm heading to the gym in an hour to lift for the first time in months. I welcome happy, supportive posts!

The "somehow I lost my taste for it" is pretty much an honest statement for me lately. No one questions it, either. And I am definitely not missing the paranoia and anxiety for the few days after a binge. Also, I have things I want to do, events I want to enjoy, and being in that hungover state really prevents me from…
