55 here, so I'm at the upper age of this group. When I run in the mornings, I can reach that state where I am only aware of my breathing and I have few thoughts in my head. How do you carry that peace to the rest of your day? I tend to combat the anxiety with pretzels, which are not the best remedy.

Gorgeous morning run in shorts and a tshirt! I've forgotten how good it is to run without layers on. And for whatever reason, Pandora kept playing Kylie Minogue this morning -- who is awesome to run to! Anyone else enjoying a Spring day?

Even though I knew I was going to exceed my calorie count on Tuesday, I counted anyway. Usually, those are the days that I skip the diary. And it was eye opening. It's amazing how a handful of this, a little of that, and yeah, I'll try that other thing, can accumulate. I went 1,000 cal over!

@ReenieHJ Coffee is like wine, and beer, and vodka, and pretty much everything else. You try a lot and ultimately find one that you really prefer. At least, that's how it was for me. I was lucky enough to have stores that sold many brands and types before I finally found my go-to. If the coffee is good, you really don't…

You've lost 43? That's wonderful success -- congrats!

Agree with all of the above. And if you're going to do some serious time on the outdoor bike, a bike fit is worth the money. It's been years since I've done it -- I've fallen out of the habit -- but back then it was about $50. They measure you, ask how often you ride, how often you workout, etc, etc, and really customize…

I have, too. Or just the semi naked women who have been members for a while and have no posts and no friends. I admit, its been a while since I've been here. Is that the new thing now?

I like to put my thoughts down, and like to hear how others are doing, too. Not a fan of reading the auto-generated scroll of "Tom exercised for 20 minutes today". But if you had a great workout, or every step of that run hurt, or you were totally craving Reese's peanut butter cups today -- that's what I want to hear. And…

I'm committing to no alcohol today. It's harder than it sounds.

Down 3.5 lbs for the month, which I will take. The run this morning just hurt. I wasn't in the mood for it, but I knew I'd be glad I did it when I was back. And I am. The snow started to come down in my last mile and I am burrowing in for the day. How's everyone's Sunday?

That's a very attainable goal. The really hard part is figuring out how to dress for the cold during these next few months. Good luck!
-
@littleblackskirt -- those are great goals! I have the day off, and will try to do the same today with my wife.
-
I did this yesterday and feel like it did some good. Same goal for today.

My goal today is water -- 96 ounces. I am feeling so toxic and polluted and I just want to clean everything out.

Amazing morning walk! Was cold, but not freezing, and little ice on the roads. And I turned off the news about 15 minutes in and just let my mind wander with music. Definitely a great start to the day.

Down 3lbs since Jan 1. Wish it was going faster, but I'll take it! And unseasonably warm here, so the morning run felt great. Amazing how peaceful a quiet morning can be.

I like to see posts, look at food pics, hear what's working for you, and share the frustration when the day just goes bad and you open the wine at 4pm. Friend me if you do, too!

I've done a few. What race do you have your eye on?

Rest day for me today. So I meditated this morning, and plan on taking a long walk this afternoon with my wife. It is supposed to be sunny and warm (for winter, that is) and I'm looking forward to putting on sunglasses for a change. I think I've lived under a cloud dome for the last 3 weeks.

The day's run is done, and I meditated on the front steps in the morning sun before coming in. My wife suggested I try meditation and the Chopra app has a week of free recordings. "What's done is done; let it go" was the theme. So simple and yet I still dwell on so many things that I cannot change.

@cgrout78, thanks for sharing. I've never taken medications before, and this one has me nervous. Which makes sense in an ironic way. I'm anxious about taking an anti-anxiety drug. @mtaratoot, I didn't know about the Cheese Sticks rule for pms, but it makes total sense.

Yesterday was the annual physical, which culminated in a To Do list that includes extensive blood work including thyroid and testosterone testing, an x-ray to confirm what is probably arthritis, and a suggestion to try Lexapro for anxiety and depression. I'm curious if anyone's tried Lexapro, or Zoloft, or any meds along…

I am so totally surprised at how quickly I lost my running endurance. I know it will come back. But that still doesn't make the huffing and puffing on a street that I have run 100+ times any less tolerable. The good news: the scale is steady, and not increasing. That's the bad news, too. And, yes, like @tinybry asked, what…

I went through this last summer. Hug your Dad when you can. And if he asks you to go get him take-out soup from that place he likes, no matter how inconvenient it is, just do it. Trust me.

I like Yoga with Adrienne, with tons of videos on YouTube. I discovered her a few years ago when I really started traveling for work. Do a class and let me know what you think!

Yesterday, I was voracious. I know it was the first day back at work since before the holiday, and those are stressful days in general. But I was literally eating everything in the kitchen, from hard pretzels for breakfast to Haagen Daaz at 8pm. Just not a good day at all. And I'm sore from yoga. Am I the only person in…

@Gold6767, I love that struggle! Yesterday, I was voracious. I know it was the first day back at work since before the holiday, and those are stressful days in general. But I was literally eating everything in the kitchen, from hard pretzels for breakfast to Haagen Daaz at 8pm. Just not a good day at all. And I'm sore from…

First run of the new year. Streets were dark and quiet, the temp was about 30, and the rain held off despite the prediction of a wet morning. It was lovely. And the scale is coming down, which is great. I'm still bloated from the holidays but I will take whatever progress I can make.

I have my yearly physical on Thursday. For my entire life, I've always said that I'm feeling fine (physically and mentally) and just let the doctor do her thing. My goal for Thursday is to be completely honest with everything that's been going on and come up with an action plan to address the physical side (lingering leg…

Stood on the scale yesterday morning, and can announce that I am officially at the highest weight I have ever been. I haven't run since Thanksgiving due to a lingering cold -- and at that time, I was within 11 pounds of my goal. However, the real culprit is not the lack of exercise, but the unlimited eating and drinking…
