i try to avoid touching doorknobs whenever i can, except when at my house or my parents' house.

found myself watching pokoyo (kids cartoon) sometimes for hours after the kids are in bed. seriously, what's up with that?

my grandmother called it chesterfield, haven't heard anyone from my mom's generation use that word. but for some reason my mom calls gasoline "gazz". i say egad. people giggle. i also say "oh for heaven's sake" which makes them laugh too, because most people say "oh for F#'s sake".

"chesterfield", sofa, and davenport were all names for a couch. jarred - originally meant dumbfounded, morphed to suggest stupidity. 'tard - the R word. said as an insult. i so regret this one. psych - surprised, shocked, "psyched out". "all that and a bag of chips" - an exceptionally hot young woman. never quite got how…

foot strike for sure. i can't walk fast at all, within 2 blocks my lower legs are screaming at me. if i jog a little and walk slowly in between jogs, i can keep going for much, much, much longer! when walking i have a definite heel strike, and hard. shin splints in no time. when running i have mild heel strike, but am…

juicing is extracting juice from produce, leaving fibre out of the mix and not adding water. a nutribullet WILL NOT juice. a nutribullet makes green smoothies. fibre is intact, water is added. my husband loves them, i prefer juicing. we both use them as ways to add produce to our diet, not to lose weight per se. following…

Enell all the way. for smaller big girls (i'm like, huge.. my sister however is just big LOL) shock absorbers seem pretty popular.

i loved weight watchers. i was not successful at it because i suck at tracking. now i'm too broke to pay for it and MFP is free, so here i am!

no idea but the title of the thread was quite amusing :)

breastfeeding will not spot reduce your hips. milk is made of nutrients you consume plus whatever it takes from your body as necessary (if your diet is low on protein, your body will basically eat its own muscles to free up enough protein for the milk). make them high quality foods to get the most nutrients possible. take…

my BMI is under 40 and according to my fat-measuring scale i am 48% fat. give or take a bit because bioelectric impedance analysis isn't terribly accurate at times.

lemon or lime juice and an airtight container.

that 15-20 minutes depends. in northern climates, we're too far from the sun to do well with just 15 minutes in a t-shirt. plus, we have snow 6 months of the year. people in north carolina? you're probably good with 15 minutes in the sun.

i would seriously die for some Ethiopian food right now.. especially their Doro Tibs or Wat or the sauteed greens..mmm.... i wish i could at least get my hands on some berbere.

tanning spray, lighting, dehydrating, and flexing can make you look way skinnier in a few days. if it IS the same person and it really IS that short a time, you've got your answer. if she has lost fat and that's why her waist looks thicker, it's because her hips are narrower. if you want to look like you have a very narrow…

clinical depression is a health issue, just as diabetes is a health issue. you get it properly treated, you live normally. you don't treat it properly, it's a risk to your life. i've had depression since i was 8 years old but was not diagnosed til i was 28. i've been on a variety of medications of different classes, and…

LOL don't we all? those things ain't cheap..

the ONLY people who can answer your question fully is your health care team, particularly your nutritionist or dietitian. don't take the advice on anyone here too seriously, because each bariatric team has its own guidelines.

i think it's reasonable to assume correction of ANY deficiency will be an aid in gaining health (which, to some, may mean losing weight). i'll agree on the necessity of bloodwork and communicating with your health care practitioner before starting supplementation, especially minerals and fat-soluble vitamins.

where do you live? what you wear may depend on where you live - i for example am in canada in climate zone 3 (this is a reference of temperature for whether or not plants will survive here). i need LOTS of layers if i go outside. trouble is if i work up a sweat it's hard to take them all off because of their bulk, they…

i am a US38M (UK38JJ) or so (need to be refitted since weight loss). the ONLY and i mean ONLY bra that works for me, ever since i was an H cup, has been the Enell. standard size (use their size chart). any other brand recommended that i've tried - even the shock absorber etc - didn't hold me down for one second. seriously,…

by far the absolute BEST BRA ON THE PLANET is the Enell. i get mine from breakoutbras.com. i'm roughly a 38M (UK38J) and every other bra, despite being designed for "high impact sports" totally failed on me. i was risking black eyes until i found the enell!

would that be gale-force wind?

i peaked at 287 lbs. i take 14 pills a day all of which are related to my not-so-functional brain. every one of them has a weight side effect. i've had severe depression (now diagnosed bipolar II but i almost never have hypomania) my whole life. i also have anxiety, epilepsy and asperger's. my brain is fun ;) i'm kind of…

lactose free milk has the *exact* same nutrients are regular milk. if you tolerate milk well, there is no reason to pay the extra money to get it with the lactose altered. if you do not tolerate milk well, this may be a good choice to try. almond milk is a very poor replacement for cow milk in terms of nutrient profiles.…

has a rare craniofacial anomaly that makes his real head appear to be a chicken.

it depends on how much you're feeding. newborns? 500 calories extra. older babies, fewer extra calories as they're not taking as much milk from your body.
-
there is a difference between smoothies and juicing. smoothies add the whole produce and adds liquid (usually water). juicing takes the produce and removes the water (and water soluble chemicals) out of it, leaving the fibre behind. to which are you referring? in any case, juices and smoothies would be a healthy part of…

it's not a weight loss tool per se, it's how you use it inside your overall diet that makes a difference. very useful for adding greens/veggies when you don't feel like a salad.
