Actually, that's correct...you definitely need fat. It's the same with carbs...people always say reduce carbs, but what they really mean is reduce calories. Those requirements are just broad targets, but I would try to maintain a nutritional balance, which includes getting healthy fats in your diet. The primary reason to…

I'm looking for friends too, for support/motivation etc. I'll send you invite...anyone please add! :D

I lost 35 pounds on weight watchers, and as soon as I stopped tracking (I thought I could do it on my own) I never lost another pound, even though I actually intensified my exercising. The only way to lose weight reliably is to track what you eat. I'm back on MFP a few years after losing all that weight, with a goal of…

I'm looking for more friends too, for support/motivation/accountability etc. Anyone please add :)

I have the same issue. Right now for me, with a goal of losing 2 lbs per week, my daily allowance is 1200 calories. I easily can eat 2500 calories per day, and that's not even stuffing myself. I *have* to go to the gym in order to earn extra calories, at least 450. Yesterday I worked out for 2 hours at the gym, which gave…

I need friends too who will provide support, encouragement, feedback, comment on my progress (and regression) etc. :)

That's really interesting info...even though I'm exercising for 45-90 minutes per day at the gym, for most of the rest of the day I'm sitting at the computer or reading etc. I'll keep this in mind and try to do it! It makes sense, if you think about it....

My goal is to lose 2 pounds per week, so I'm just about on that trajectory.

Sending add, thanks! Yeah I agree...and knowing that others can see what I'm doing, eating, etc....
-
Anyone here please add me...the more support and friend the better! I learn from what others are doing, and knowing others are going through the same definitely helps. It's all about discipline and inspiration!

me too

Awesome!

I have been on and off with MFP, but I never looked for friends on it until now, for extra motivation/support etc! Sending invite....

I have had a similar situation, sort of. :p A few years ago, I was about 40 pounds overweight (or at least above where I wanted to be...I think the BMI thing can be deceptive). I began to exercise regularly and did weight watchers for 2-3 months, during which time I lost like 35 pounds. I stopped WW (thinking I could lose…

Hi, I will support you! I sent you an add...anyone please add, the more MFP friends the better! I'm trying to stay consistent with tracking calories, and I think that having friends who see your progress (or lack thereof) in the news feed helps :)
-
Hm, I'm not close to being there yet (I have 15 pounds to go), but let me know how maintenance goes once you get there!
-
You can do it! Losing weight is really hard, and I say that as someone who has only 15 lbs to lose, who exercises regularly, and eats relatively healthily. The *only* way to lose weight is to track your calories consistently and strictly. Without rigorous exercise it will be harder, I suppose, but everyone's different.

I would exercise more so that I could eat more. That seems to be the secret. If I don't get in enough exercise, I struggle to make it below my daily calorie limit. So you get to eat more, and you are speeding up your metabolism, burning calories, etc.
