  • 30 minutes on Cycling trainer. 13.82 miles. Then working at Amazon from 5:30 to 10:30 tonight. Will walk, bend, squat, lift, push and pull for just about 5 full hours.
  • Name: Les Height: 5'11" Starting Weight (12/1): 224.6 Goal Weight (12/31): 209.2 12/8: 218.4 12/22:221.2 12/29: 12/31: This weekend was my anniversary and we went to Opryland Hotel in Nashville. We walked a lot but ate out and I just enjoyed myself and didn't stress over it. Will get back a few pounds this week and then…
  • Oh, I'm a real geek at keeping the data. I started back in July of last year. I agree about the timing of the weigh in. That's when I do it. And I try to even be consistent with my meals. I try to find what's working and keep doing that. Also, if I keep all things the same and change the exercise, I can see how it effects…
  • For example: Last week I ran 7 miles on Sunday morning and weighed 216.8. Didn't eat very good that day and woke up on Monday weighing 223. Ate well at the beginning of the week and weighed in at 218.6 and 216.4 Tues and Wed. Had an office party that day and weighed 219 on Thursday. Back to 216.8 today. As long as this…
  • Good explanation! It also can explain why a bad weekend nutritionally can look on Monday like you gained all the weight back all at once. Be patient and you'll probably notice that you have a day or two of what looks like incredible weight loss again. Probably why they tell you to only weigh yourself once a week. Would you…
  • I think it's pretty close to the one beach body uses with insanity. Men: 66 + (6.23 X weight lbs) + (12.7 X height in) - (6.8 X age) Women: 655 + (4.35 * weight lbs) + (4.7 X height in) - (4.7 X age) These give you calories base. You multiply that base by your activity level: 1.2 sedentary, little or no exercise 1.375…
  • 12/15 14.83 miles on trainer 0:30:41 12/18 18.25 miles on trainer 0:36:29 Week total 33.08 miles Total for Dec 103.34 Goal 325 miles Left to ride 222. 10 days, 22 miles per day, I can do this. Today is my anniversary and I'm going away for the weekend (with my wife, of course) and I'm probably not going to check out the…
  • @karyabc, it looks like you've found more than 7 "good" friends right here. Sometimes it's sad and disappointing to go back to a reunion to find out most of our high school "friends" never grew up.
  • Oh, and I was married young to the wrong person for the wrong reasons and stayed in it for nearly 12 years. I have 3 wonderful kids but my ex and I were both completely miserable and not the right people for each other. There are so many things worse than staying single or waiting longer for the right person.
  • Plenty of time. I know a beautiful woman who waited until she was 42 to find the man of her dreams (me). We've been married 5 years today. If you can find a way to be happy no matter your "status" then it's amazing how attractive that will become to others. And I'm sure everyone at that table had "issues" they wouldn't…

  • I got started back in 2011 with Shaun T's Rockin Body from BeachBody. It's not high impact and even with those videos there is a modifier. The last workout is the only one where you get on the floor at all and the music is pretty fun.
  • My profile picture was from July 4th, 2011 to August 17, 2013. I was 250 lbs at my heaviest and got down to 197 at one point. I've been maintaining around 210-215 for a while and am trying to get to 189 and see how 12% body fat feels.
  • 12/2 26.65 miles on trainer for 1:00:15 12/3 11.95 miles on trainer for 0:30:01 12/4 9.5 miles on trainer for 0:24:01 12/9 22.16 miles on trainer for 0:45:01 12/15 14.83 miles on trainer for 0:30:41 Total of just over 85 miles so far.
  • I would love to have a TI instructor watch me and critique my stroke but that costs money and right now I'm just working on getting through the swimming. If I get close to a podium in a race that makes money, then I'll spend a little for the coaching.
  • For me, the key is timing the pull with the kick on the same side. I do most of my swimming with just the one kick per pull. If I want to give my legs a workout I go to 3 kicks but you still want to focus on the kick leg with the same pull arm. I only get a few seconds faster per 100 M with the 3 kick vs the 1 kick so I…
  • week #2 22.2 miles
  • What you may be experiencing by eating the fewer calories is your body being in self preservation mode. It will actually hang on to fat cells if you don't eat enough. I agree with what others have said here, I just hadn't heard the reason why you may not be losing weight explained yet.
  • So your total was 171? I would be surprised if the insurance company gave a high premium rate. Those are good numbers.
  • Have you been tracking the acidity in your nutrition? Look up what you eat on an acidity scale. The more acid, the more your body may be producing LDL to repair cells. Also, how long did you fast before the bloodwork for the insurance? It may have spiked due to something you had.
  • She'll be okay for a while. I just bought us a new bedroom suit and this weekend is our 5th anniversary. We're going to Nashville and seeing the lights at the Opryland Hotel where we went on our honeymoon. And she's getting some new bling from Kay. That should hold her over on the carpet for now.
  • I've looked up some of the preview and review videos on YouTube and can't wait to get this. I may have to move my workouts into my garage. My wife is already telling me I have to clean or/and replace the carpet in the basement where I did Insanity and T25. Ha Ha
  • Thanks @ciatastic24. I got 30 minutes (15 miles) in at lunch yesterday but have an office party at lunch today and go to the Amazon job right after work. But hey, I get about 5 hours of power walking in at Amazon so it's not all bad.
  • I use Strava for my outdoor runs and bike rides. Strava will sync with MFP so I put all my workouts on there. Strava has a great established community and monthly challenges to enter and earn badges and they open access to challenge specific shirts and jerseys. When indoors, I use Polar Beat. I have a Polar heart rate…

  • Week 2 12/9 22.2 miles Began working at Amazon 4 nights per week and really struggled getting time on the trainer. This week will be better.
  • I don't buy the "I lost 100 lbs" while holding a foot long sub with more bread and meat than veggies, but I HAVE grown to like Subway. I get a veggie salad with a little mixed cheese and parmesan cheese and olive oil dressing. I load it with just about all the veggies and even avocado when it's available. I take that home…
  • That's a great idea. I remarried in 2009 when I was at my heaviest and married into a family of very overweight people who eat out constantly and snack on all the wrong stuff. I changed my habits and have been working out and eating healthy trying to be an example and motivation for them. Sometimes seeing how far I've come…
