Hmmm, guess that just goes to show how different impressions different people can get. ^^ My first impression of Freelee was more on the lines of OMG who is this crazy chick? I never got any "pureness and inner peace" vibe from her. ^^

Completely agreed.
-
Could you enlighten me as to how you could possibly believe Freelee? This is not meant in a condescending or rude way, I am just genuinely curious. Just the front page of her channel made me run away in terror.

I understand the intellectual property aspect, which is why I think it is a difficult topic. However, I find it very hard not to have a moral objection towards patenting a source of food… The comparison with medicine is very apt, and I find that to be a difficult topic as well. I recognise that most of my reasoning are…

uuuuuuhhhh… Not knowing what the restaurant offers, and especially whether or not it's genuine Italian, makes it hard to give advice. In general though, you want to go for the simplest pasta sauces… cherry tomatoes and basil, for example. Avoid carbonara, an engineer friend once calculated that being the meal with the best…

There have also been plenty of doctors and other people with a medical background criticising the show.

Hahaha! No sorry, that is not what I meant. I meant that it is such a basic type of food I cannot really conceive how to swap it out… It's a bit like eggs. I also could not imagine how to replace eggs. I mean, I could avoid eating them, but it would be a different meal, not a replacement. :)
-
Fair enough. ^^ It is just really unconceivable for me to truly switch out bread for anything else… sure, I can do lettuce wraps, use rice crackers… but it's a completely different meal in my mind, not a replacement. :) In fact, I was thinking if I had any ideas that could be useful to you, but I can't really say because…
-
This must be by far the weirdest replacement question I have ever seen… Why would you want to replace… bread? Bread is … bread! It's the base of everything…
-
I don't even find it entertaining, really. It just makes me sad. :(
-
Hell yeah. History and the Roman Empire prove this to be true.
-
I found that if I need to question myself about whether I'm hungry or not, I most likely am not hungry. Also, a bit of hunger is fine. :)
-
It took me around 12 pounds, although the smaller size is still a bit right around my bum.
-
I just count the tablespoons. :/ Even if I put a tablespoon and then wipe it with the water. So, I will be 50 calories under what I really ate. No biggie.
-
Cheers to that! Whilst the same thought process leads me to siding more on the anti-GMO side, I do also recognise that there may be advantages to GMO crops… IF well-monitored and if crap like monolithic crop supplies and patenting of a new species is avoided.
-
I am guessing people let themselves be duped by the "medically supervised" part that is advertised. :/ I do have to wonder though… how has nobody, so far, sued this show? Or put it through some kind of legal action?

I think one of the worst things is that the German version is sponsored by my gym. They broadcast episodes in front of the treadmills every now and then with their logo appearing here and there. I tried watching it once while on the treadmill, to see what it was about. I had to quit after 10 minutes... I completely and…

I can't say I am surprised. It's good that it's being talked about, though.
-
Lol. I can actually see how that would happen. I had similar experiences with bread. Tbh, it depends on the brand really. Some pseudo-Pasta sorts out there have absolutely no taste, most good ones are not exported from Italy though, unfortunately.
-
Well, GMO produced with genetic engineering could make sense, if you consider selective breeding a form of genetic modification. Although I doubt that is what most people thought.

I can't stand whole grain pasta. >.> It's just not pasta.

Now I am wondering if you can eat mountain goats. I don't think I'v ever heard of anyone eating those.
-
Well, it applies to sugar for sure, and people who are against all processed foods generally exclude sugar from their diet. Foods that are made to last forever have to be refined somehow… removing some nutrients, adding others… it's a refining process, in a way. Or am I getting mixed up with vocabulary? I think one thing…
-
What about "refined" foods? Would that work?
-
Alright, I misunderstood you then. That makes sense.
-
Pre-made kind of lends itself to the same misinterpretation though… I can go and get a salad from my supermarket's salad bar and it will be pre-made. Or I could go and get some instant noodles.
-
That is pretty much why "I am cutting out all processed food" is always a matter of debate on this forum… For me, I'd also say it is pre-packaged, pre-cooked foods and instant meals. You know, stuff you just add water to or put in the microwave and they are done. Certain pre-made sauces as well… I cut them out both because…

Ugh, got mixed up, I meant ankles… Brillian. I have a small frame according to my wrists and a large frame according to my elbows! Yet another way I failed to be classified. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
