"You are welcome to do any ab exercise you want, but don't do push-ups, I want you to keep your boobs."

Read this: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/of-whooshes-and-squishy-fat.html/ Log everything as accurately as you can. Trust the math. If you are eating at a deficit, any fluctuation is water retention, salt or whatevs.

I log daily whenever I can. I don't comment much, though. :)

What amusedmonk says. I know that tomorrow I'm having a very indulgent lunch, that will potentially on its own set me over my calorie limit. I won't skip breakfast, so I am already planning no dinner or have a very light soup if I really am hungry. (I doubt it) I will also have a very light Sunday. This, I feel, is ok,…

Happy with my body, but have not quite found a diet I find ideal. I have a big issues with getting enough protein and not getting cravings or annoyed at my food. Not sure why this is in this forum, though.

This. Yes, there are aspects of obesity that are related to social, psychological, and even genetic factors, but they have nothing to do with the way the media portrays them. None of then negate CICO, for one. It's immensely frustrating because it's a fascinating topic but the media has to sensationalise it and spin it in…

Oh yeah, I already have and it's beign dealt with. It really was just the menstruation thing that confused me and sounded very, very wrong.

Interesting, I had know idea. I knew about the iron-deficiency and anemia as well, though.

Calories are a unit of energy. Your body doesn't "process" them at all. Calories represent the amount of energy available in a certain food source. You can replace them with Joules if you prefer, and in fact if you look at nutrient lables you will see that you can often find the energy equivalent in Joules. Your body does…

Last time I tried this, I got mixed results, with a small bone structure on my write and thick at my elbows… Maybe my boyfriend knows a med student who needs to practice a DEXA scan, I really would love to know, out of curiosity.

I have the free C25K app. It syncs just fine. The way it seems to work for is the following. After a workout, it will ask you to if I want to share my status. There are option to share it with Twitter, MFP and other, I think. Click on MFP, it should start syncing. Then click on the "share" button. Done. I also have…

Both myself and somebody else. Actually, my original reason for wanting to be fit was a mixture of really weird reasons that were for others only. Now it's mostly for myself. I got bored and needed to find a new motivation.

I see it as the same debate as the one surrounding stick-thin models, to be honest. But that is just me. :/
-
yaay! pears unite! thank you for the inspiring photos.

I am not really arguing against any of that. Especially because it is not the model herself I am criticising. Again, you are perfectly right that that woman has the right for self-determination and I really, really don't care about her. If she is happy, good for her. In fact I love her underwear photoshoot and the style in…

Thank you. I also think neither of us meant openly criticising the person and saying to their face "go eat a sandwich". I don't particularly care about the model herself. I think it's fantastic for her if she is happy and can make money doing what she wants. If the #effyourbeautystandards campaign is helping her be…

The only one in there that I will actually give them is alcohol – although their description makes no sense and is a giant contradiction.

^^ this.

<3 Dr Who reference.

Not sexist. Just accounting for physiological differences. Accurate though? Probably not, most often these things aren't.

It can go up to 14 € for 750ml here, I think. We actually started a habit of importing 5L cans from Italy because of that. ^^
-
( <--- Italian) Extra virgin olive oil is for everything. :P I might have to change that habit though since the prices are expected to skyrocket this year.

Yes, I agree forbidden was the wrong choice of words. I was rather fuzzy on the details of the regulation when I first posted the answer.

Nah, it was a bit more complex than that and did not really have anything to do with tarps or clothing. This is pretty much the only more or less reliable article i could find on it: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/13/world/asia/13fat.html?em&ex=1213502400&en=c6f2623fbee96495&ei=5087%0A ETA: Foot binding was also never a…

Alright, but if we start comparing Asian sizes to Western sizes it is a sure-fire way to get everyone on this forum depressed. :stuck_out_tongue: That said, Japan did sort of "forbid" waistlines over a certain measure. I can't find any source with more reliability than just rumours though, so I don't know the details.

OP I was wondering – do you think that lifting somehow contributed to the level you are at now (giving you a good base, etc.) or was it two separate experiences for you?
-
Not really. I don't really know their background, so no.
-
No wait. I just found it… I got 0 points, but in my profile I am at -2 points? Whut?
-
Oh? I got a warning after I absent-mindedly used a swearword in a post, but it did not say anything about contacting anyone. It also did not say anything about how many points I got. I only just found out I got two points... I also just found out I got an abuse flag somewhere… I cannot figure out where that came from,…

Ugh… oh yes. I remember telling a couple of friends of mine that I started losing weight after I reached an overweight BMI and started feeling uncomfortable and the reply I gout was, "PFF who cares about the BMI? You should not worry about that. You can be overweight and beautiful!" Thanks, but… beyond the point.
