Bahahaha! I absolutely love that exercise. It's a classic, but pure gold in terms of teamwork. ^^ The analogy can be brought even further – in order to succeed, much focus is needed. :) And it's not because you know how it works that you will automatically succeed!
-
Wonderful! THank you so much of this. :) I have had some reservations due to similar reasoning to you concerning weightlifting – happy to see others have been successful at this!

Completely unrelated – while I couldn't care less about the model herself, the people in the comments are making me cry.

Well, it is obviously subjective, but a good artist or photographer will generally be able to capture beauty in just about anything and anyone. Lightning, framing and concept will play a massive role in it, of course. So I do believe it is possible to find beauty at any size, although I wouldn't find people of every size…
-
On the other hand, as someone who has done nude drawings a lot, with people of various sizes, I do agree with the notion that beauty is not a size. Unfortunately beauty does not equal healthy (which also applies at all sizes)

This! This whole controversy is not very different from the massive debate that happened a few years back (what was it? 2006?) when two models in Spain died from an eating disorder and subsequently Size 0 models were banned in certain countries. In the end, this is really the same issue, just at the other end of the scale.…

The most recent change is that when I let my hands run down my back I can feel my ribcage. Not in a really skinny, bones-sticking-out way, but just very slightly under my skin. ^^ Oh, and then out of nowhere, I was able to do a sit-up yesterday. And I fit perfectly in a pair of pants that were way too tight just a month…

Well, yes, because the attitude of a lot of people is "once I am at my goal weight I am done". They do not see their diet as something they will keep on doing for the rest of their lives. The go on "A Diet" and cannot imagine doing it for the rest of their lives.

Pizza. Also, good bread.

I am always under, but then again, I exercise (do yoga) daily, and depending I either won't or will eat half of my exercise calories back. (20 min of Yoga, for instance, among to 95 calories in MFP or something like that. since MFP tends to grossly overestimate the burn, however, I don't see a point).

I calculated my BMI and it cam rout overweight. Also, I could not do two flights of stairs without running out of breath and my flexibility was crap. I didn't like that.

My boyfriend is a doctor. His professional opinion is… No.

What is with the hate against oysters? Oysters are delicious! When I was a vegetarian, I would get most my protein through legumes. Tofu helps as well.

LOL!

I'm surprised at how little mention Monty Python is getting in this thread. Also, Guy Ritchie? No? Nobody? No Snatch, or Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels? Also, British humour takes a while to get used to, but is hilarious once you get it. It also requires a certain mastery of the language or a bunch of jokes will just…

One of my fitness instructors always comes in with perfectly done hair, makeup, high heels, and a long fur coat over her sport attire. Then she dons the coat and the heels and turns to one of the most badass instructors ever. She is the only one that during the BodyPump classes (or well, not body pump, they are called…

Bahahaha! There is so much WIN in this post.

Lol. Our gym does not know the concept of curtains. There is a large antechamber in front of the showers and everyone sort of dries up there. There aren't that many people using them though.

Indeed, but I was not referring to the motivation of researchers at all. Any field of research has people doing it purely for the love of their field as well as people wishing to make a profit out of it. I will not argue against that and it was never my intention to paint researchers all in one stroke. However, it is also…

Holy… I was wondering why nobody immediately showed up at the "your body holds on to fat". Then I saw this.

LOL. Oh, dear. You have no idea how far away from the truth you are with that accusation. It's actually funny. Also, even assuming GMOs were the ultimate solution to world hunger, if you really think companies would be producing them solely out of the goodness of their hearts and no ulterior motives that would most likely…

I am going to make the assumption I usually make in these cases, without however having any statistics at hand, in that these recommendations are applied to the average American/UK/German/Italian/whereveryouarefrom citizen and that the average citizen consumes too much sugar. Either in their food intake or through sugary…

Hail this thread. I ended up eating an entire pizza instead of the three slices I had promised myself… It frustrated me immensely because a) the plan was for me to eat the rest of that for lunch during the week and b) I had just hit a major milestone and I have a history of relaxing and slipping up after a major…

Basically, what everyone else said. :) I was wondering though if there is any reason why you put all your calories into dinner? Not that it will affect your weight loss or anything (it won't), I am wondering mostly in terms of it being sustainable or not.

I figured so much… glad to have it confirmed though.

This discussion and the answer to your question happened literally one page ago. Read and come back.

Honestly… I really do not think that GMOs (or lack thereof) have much to do with people starving… Besides, if I have to choose between making a few sacrifices in terms of my lifestyle and over-engineering the planet, I will take the first. That is an entirely different matter of debate though.

Most colourful options from Dunkin Doughnuts… I keep expecting there to be some sort of filling, but it's just coloured sugar on a doughnut. :disappointed:

Lol. This! Exactly what I was trying to put into words!

Sometimes it fails to work properly, then I get frustrated. Otherwise no, not really… For complex recipes that I can't just import, I will have a notebook besides me where I will quickly jot the weight of each food, then add it all at once.
