As the title says, what do you tell yourself to get through the rough says of a plateau.
I currently am on my 2nd plateau since I began my journey in November. The first time I quickly became insecure and was having major doubts. This time around its different. I know I have the willpower to get through and am doing more then before. I just keep telling myself "its just a plateau, your body will adjust and start up again".
We all have our insecurities and private issues but to anyone else out there on their first plateau or 5th. Stick to your diet and exercise plan. Eventually if you are true to your logging you will break through.

Just trust the math. A 3,500 calorie deficit equals 1lb lost not matter what fluctuations occur on the scale before you see it.

    Read this: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/of-whooshes-and-squishy-fat.html/

Log everything as accurately as you can.

Trust the math. If you are eating at a deficit, any fluctuation is water retention, salt or whatevs.

    "Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."

Our bodies and our lives are complex things. Lots of factors affect short and long-term weight loss, including stress, exercise, overall health, hormones, water retention, food waste, sodium levels, injury, mis-estimates in our calorie intake, sleep, etc. 3500 calories = 1 pound, but that doesn't always come out in what we see on the scale. BUT, if you keep at it long enough, and if you make adjustments to your intake, measurements, exercise, lifestyle, sleep patterns, stress management, etc., when you seem to be stalling, things will start moving again. The key is to know that you are doing the right things and stay committed.

I have been working on losing weight for the past 20 months. I initially lost 25 pounds, then got pneumonia over the holidays and was very sick for months and gained back more than half of what I lost, got back on track and started losing again, saw steady weight loss for months, stalled for three months, got more motivated and started working out harder and started losing again, stalled for two or three weeks, then dropped nearly 10 pounds in two weeks, stalled for weeks, then dropped several pounds again, stalled for weeks again, and more recently it has accelerated again. During all of that (except the sick period), my net calorie intake remained fairly steady. I am now down nearly 50 pounds, within just a few pounds of my goal weight.
