I just checked on Youtube to see if Numberphile had a video on that, but it appears he doesn't. :(

To be fair, at my gym there is currently the talk of a Fast Diet not as in fasting, but quickly. As in, a 24 hour diet (or 48 hour) that is supposed to get you to shred 5 kg (11 pounds) in that time. So it is not all that surprising that people got confused.

well, a medium-sized banana, apple, or a large orange are roughly 100 calories each. Eat 5-6 of those a day, and boom! 600 extra calories. Avocados are even worse.

To be completely honest, I used to have that. Then recently, a second voice started shouting over that one... "Are you freaking kidding me? Of course you can lose that weight! It's not a special talent, it's science and thermodynamics. Nobody said it would be easy, but guess what, you are not fooling yourself thinking you…

Of course you should log it. Just because it's healthy doesn't mean it doesn't contain calories. In terms of fat loss, that is the only thing your body cares about.

Lol, yeah, I am aware it's silly. But the fact that it wasn't specified has been nagging my perfectionist side and I wanted an answer once and for all. :stuck_out_tongue:

that actually sounds awfully convenient. wish I had had that when I was busy with my dissertation last year. It apparently exists in Germany as well – there is a .de page, at least. It is kind of useless in telling you anything about the plan though. (Just says: call this number!) Hence why I asked. :)

Go have a look in the "Success Stories" section. Then report back. ^^

Lol, that was actually my first reaction when analysing the IFLS article a bit further. ^^ Hmmm… actually what this article is really saying is that high fiber foods are awfully inefficient. The dormant engineer in my disapproves. I think what kyta means, is that in terms of satisfaction, is that we feel full faster and…

This +1. Or the diet/fitness industry.

Over consumption of meat, much like anything else, brings problem. So I am going to jump to conclusions and assume the average American consumes too much meat, and that is why they are saying to cut it. That is the only way it would make sense. If you consume meat in moderation, nothing wrong with it. I want a steak now.

+ 1 I am considering dropping by controversial threads just for kgeyer's moderation. Back to OP – I would agree with everyone who says to track fiber. MFP lacks a bit in certain areas, and the way it tracks sugar is one of them, from what I gathered in the forums.

No seriously. What the hell does any of this have to do with Military? O.o they are just running out of names now...

Team 7, attention please! :) It appears that I will be your captain for this journey. I already spammed you all with friends requests ( :stuck_out_tongue: ) it would be great if, much like Team 2, you could send me your starting weights until tomorrow at noon, aka 12:00 pm ETC. Sorry if that sounds a bit like something out…

btw, since we are sharing food pictures, this is my dinner. :) (yeah, I don't live in the US, should have mentioned it :) ETA: what is up with MFP constantly flipping my pictures??? --"

@Charityn12 Know you are busy, but whenever you have some time, we will need a few pointers on the stats and the challenge. I am still not sure how it works entirely. Do we just log our weight every week and support each other? Also, is the goal weight our end goal or our goal until the 13th of February? :)
