Right now my favorite snacks are Garden of Life plant protein powder, chocolate is my favorite. Tastes like milkshake so it feels indulgent even though it’s only 100 cals. It keeps me full too so it’s my go to afternoon snack. In the evening, dairy free Halo Top ice cream is my go to. Oatmeal Cookie flavor is amazing and a…

Garden of Life Organic Plant Protein gets my vote. I like smooth chocolate flavor best, though vanilla is good too, I’m not so fond of Almond Butter flavor though, it taste ok but is odd to me drink something that tastes like peanut butter! I chose it because it’s only 100 cals a serving, I have a serving most afternoons…

I eat breakfast everyday, but put it off as long as possible because I’m not hungry until I eat breakfast but once I eat I’m am hungry again 2 hrs later. My breakfast is always a packet of plain porridge oats which I make with water - 100 calories. I take it to work and eat around 10 am. I eat 1200 cals a day (I’m very…

I recently got fitted at my local running shop. Tried on loads of makes and styles. I chose Brooks, a brand I’d never heard of but they were the most comfortable, plenty of cushioning but not heavy. I was also pleasantly surprised when I picked them as the best fit and asked the price.

Thanks for the advice 😀 I am running slow but probably not drinking enough water so I’ll try focusing on hydrating. I read on runners world that it should get easier in a few weeks if I just keep at it so I’m going to drink more and see what happens. I’m going to see if I can find a shadier route too.

I’m really similar to you. Was happily living my life consistently around 117Ib then I changed jobs, got out of routine and next thing you know eating junk every day. Bam - I’m 137 Ibs! Took myself in hand. I’m short so 1200 calories is a good goal for me to lose on. First few weeks I was religious about weighing and…

WeavRun is my fave at the moment

I agree with all the advice not to try to do to much too soon. My only other piece of advice would be invest in a foam roller- it’s the best $30 I ever spent and stoped my achy running legs over night!

Perhaps you could start by walking, that’s great exercise too. I read somewhere you should be able to comfortably walk for an hour before starting a running program. If you can do that try the C25K app which guides you through a program until you can run 5k. It’s starts with lots of run/walk sessions - which are a killer…

I’m vegan, have been for most of my life. Friend me!

Thanks for all your input. My shoes should be good as I’ve only had them 4 weeks. I’m only running 3or 4 times a week and then I do an hour of indoor cycling (SoulCycle) on a Sunday. I feel like that’s not very aggressive, my husband goes to the gym everyday and has done for years with no issues, so he thinks I am a total…

You can eat whatever you like, provided you stay within your calorie allowance. If what you like is chocolate bars and that’s what you choose then you’re going to be hungry. But even so if you only eat as many chocolate bars are your calorie allowance allows you’ll still see the scale falling. Stop following fad diets and…

I’m 5ft2 and my target calories are 1200, in reality I aim to eat 1100 a day. My fitness tracker says I consistently burn between 1250 and 1350 calories a day, I am barely in deficit at this target, so I am losing weight slooowly.... 1100 is a really manageable target for me, provided I plan and make sensible choices. I…

Chocolate plant protein shake. It’s 110 cals and genuinely fills me up. I was skeptical, but it works for me.

I kind of chose 5 and 10K. My goal is to complete a 10K on 30 Dec. if I can complete it in 60 mins even better. I chose that goal because it’s at the end of the year so it should keep me focused for a long time, and hopefully build new behaviors. Along the way I will run some 5ks too, I have one in a few weeks and another…

You don’t need to be very fit to learn to dive. I first learnt on a week long course. I hated every second for the first 3 days while we learnt the basics in a swimming pool. On day 4 we made it to the sea and I totally fell in love with the freedom underwater. I am eternally grateful to the instructor who only convinced…

Lots of people say don’t go below 1200. For lots of people that’s good advice. It’s a generalization though, we are all different and some people do need less than this to loose. . Of course, if you’re not eating much it is going to be harder to get all the vitamins and minerals your body needs from your food. Listen to…

I’m 5ft2 and 129Ib. My goal is to be 115Ib. I’ve been eating at 1200 cal a day but not seeing impact. Guess I am just eating at maintenance so going to try 1000 cal for a few weeks and see what happens. Am spot on 1000 cals today.

I have run 1 5k. I used C25k started on 1 Jan and ran the race on 5 March, I hadn’t finished the program when I ran the race. I finished in 28 minutes. I had no goal in mind and was very pleased with myself to have come in under 30mins, so it possible to achieve as a new “runner”. I wasn’t fit when I started, and am not…

Sent you a friend request. Happy, healthy vegan here:-)

What type of foods do you usuallly eat or enjoy? Try those but substituting the meat for a non meat option. I’d be happy to give you a few pointers - I’ve been vegan for 20 years.

Sometimes your head’s just not in the right place to focus on eating too. I was there just recently in a crappy job, that kept me at work all hours. Trying to navigate work politics and keep my team motivated took all the will power I had, cutting out pizza and wine was not an option! New job, new approach to me. I’m at…

I’m 5ft 2ins and 129Ib. Lost about 8Ibs in the last 4 weeks, goal is to hit 115Ib. Been there before for a long time but changed jobs lost, focus and drank too much wine! My goal is 1200 cals a day, but am happy if I hit somewhere between 1000-1200. I don’t eat back my exercise calories unless I do a crazy amount of…

The lady part thing made me laugh 😀. I run three days a week and am working towards my first 10K. My gynecologist recently told me my lady parts were in great condition - though whether that’s a result of the running I really couldn’t say! Do whatever exercise makes you feel good - moving is what matters.
