Just don't give up. Maintenance is hell of a lot better than gaining, so don't diminish your hard work. You know what to do - you have done it and you can get back on track again.

bump !! I'll be joining tomorrow when I weigh myself in.

Me, me!!

Mostly pictures and health reasons. Socially I don't feel fat or out of place (most of the time) but my knees are not happy with all the extra weight. Plus shopping sucks now. I am tired of being "the fat sister" in the family.

Buy fresh fruit and veggies at a local walmart and don't eat out every day. You can perfectly get by on apples, cherries, nuts, cheese, and sandwiches, and you'll save calories and money this way. Get a roasted chicken if you crave something hot.
-
sorry, double posted

When I'm in a similar situation, I just keep it light throughout the day so I have ~800-1000 cal left over from the maintenance allowance, and when I get there I load up on veggies and drink water, and go light on the scary meats, casseroles and deserts. Try to focus more on conversation and enjoy your night out. Good luck!

Beautiful dress BTW, I love that it's not a cookie cutter. Definitely shows your personality. You should tailor the outfit and redo the wedding photoshoot, if you had one. Thanks for the inspiration

I think she didn't mean physical pain as much as the figurative one of breaking the habit. My whole life I had lived by "when in doubt, eat". For comfort, out of boredom, because I was taught to never waste food, etc. I managed to keep my weight healthy until pregnancy, but it was one crash diet after another since I was…

I think I know how you feel, because it was always my approach, too. All or nothing. I had little respect for myself if the planck was set too low. I felt like giving myself a slack was something to avoid. I was mad at myself for getting fat, and I felt like I couldn't waste another day not losing the maximum weight…

Oh my gosh, I felt exactly the same way!! I held on to my skinny clothes for years without realising how much they were bringing me down. After finally letting go, I can look forward to clothes shopping instead of looking back at what a younger me could wear 10 years ago. I's so happy you did it.

I love snacks!! Unfortunately, I blame them for all the extra pounds I have now. It's like, you don't count them as meals, so you have this illusion that you eat very little, skipping big meals. At least that's what it's like for me. Now I try to "save up" calories for unexpected munchies episode. Also, for the first few…

Hi, I'm 30 and my daughter is 2. I work a 6 am shift followed by full time classes during the week and my kiddo wakes me up before dawn on weekends. My husband works nights so I never have an opportunity to go to the gym or for a run. I haven't slept in in 2.5 years. Not once. It's good to know I'm not alone. We're all…

For me personally I try to plan it into my budget. I also like red wine on ice (and sometimes even just diluted with water) so it adds volume and I don't finish is as quickly.

Reading this made me so happy. Bump!!

Hi, I'm a chronic dieter, and vanishing motivation was always a huge problem for me, so the weight loss was never long-term. I've been on MFP for 51 days and lost 12+ lbs. The reason it's different for me this time is that I lowered my expectations and chose a slower rate of weight loss in favor of higher daily calories.…

Bump!

One of my big motivators to lose weight is to have a better selection at the consignment stores. It combines my love for clothes shopping, treasure hunting, frugality, and a good pat-myself-on-the-back feeling from reusing things.

Is your daughter's name Lucy? That's absolutely adorable!! I'm knocking on your friend's list now.
-
Just pick yourself up and get back to logging. Learn from it. What went wrong? Can you up your daily calories goal a little to feel less deprived? Not too many of us here are lucky to have a supportive family, but you'll always find support on MFP.

I am the same way! Although I hate dark chocolate because it's bitter and I feel like I'm just wasting the calories without enjoying it. I stopped buying chocolate, so I'll only eat it when it comes to me free (at work or at a friend's house) This way I don't have to tell anyone I'm on a "diet", I get to enjoy the treats…

I am on the fence about this. I remember I used to sneak sugar by the spoonful as a kid whenever I could. I only got to eat candy in other people's homes, or on holidays, so I learned that treats = fun and excitement. I could not understand how at some of my friends' houses there were bowls of fruit and candy on the table…

I've had this problem ever for 15+ years, and it's only been exacerbated by restrictive crash diets. At one point I was clenching my jaw so much, while thinking abut food, I got jaw cramps and began having problems with my teeth. I guess it was part of me hitting rock bottom, because I had tried EVERYTHING besides sensible…
