  • @stacybelen kuddos to you for doing that, it's awesome!!!
  • @lovetolose17 thanks so much! I have a long maternity leave but I'd love to hit at least the 6 month mark with breastfeeding if I can...
  • @stacybelen when do you pump to freeze? I want to start doing the same for when I go back to work...
  • I've read many times that it burns about 500 calories a day. I'm not sure it's possible to measure this very accurately though.
  • I agree that you may want to consider changing doctors. Telling you off is not helpful. Offering support/nutritional advice from a professional would be much better. Good luck!
  • I did a couple of classes with their DVD and I don't think it's that intense. Maybe around 300-400 calories an hour tops.
  • @Asher_Ethan correct! When you tap on the mission you have three buttons: music, gps, and chases. That's where you can pick and adjust.
  • @Asher_Ethan you have to activate the zombie chases. You choose how often you get chased and how much faster you need to run to escape them. It's in the options for each mission.
  • I love it too - very entertaining! And I'm motivated to go for a run so I can get supplies for my base ;-)
  • Battery life is a bit short for my taste. I have to charge maybe every 4-5 days?
  • I love it. It's easy to use and looks good (not too big). The only thing is you will need to take your phone with you for gps functions if you like to run. I don't mind because I like to have my phone with me anyway.
  • It sounds like your shoes might be too small. You need a bit of extra room. I also have that problem because my second toe is longer so if the shoe is not "long" enough, I get blisters there.

  • I really like Pure Barre and I think now a great complement is their Platform classes. They're much more cardio and intense and it's a nice addition. The movements are different too so you do get to mix it up a bit.
  • Wow that's awesome, well done!
  • I'm doing Pure Barre and I love it! Currently doing the "20 classes in 31 days" challenge...
  • A tight half pony tail, then a braid. And a sweat band (Sweaty Bands are awesome).
  • Congrats on your progress! Don't start off too fast - and have fun! Feel free to add me as a friend too. Good luck!
  • Congrats on running it! Well done.
  • Great goal - good luck!!!
  • Agree - and that's where the pads (especially for the knees) are useful. If you're not afraid to fall, you won't get all stiff when you know a fall is coming up (and they do, a lot, at first), which would make you more prone to hurt yourself. If you're relaxed, you'll just bounce... To an extent :) The pain and bruising…
  • You can learn at any age! I learned as an adult. It can take 2-3 days to get the hang of it, and you'll fall a lot until then. I highly recommend knee pads, and maybe wrist and butt pads/protections too. Do not use rollerblading equipment - not the same as snowboard stuff! And totally worth the investment.
  • I think it works if you do it consistently. I started seeing changes in my thighs after two weeks of going three times a week. Awesome for your core and flexibility. As with everything, if you're not consistent and don't eat right... You won't see many changes :) Personally, I love it. It's a bit pricey but you can always…
  • Agree 100%!!!
  • I tried it and it's a really good workout. And they're quite reasonable with their prices, if I remember correctly.
  • I've done Pure Barre for about a year and I love it. The studio I go to is very friendly, it's an intense workout (and i agree with BethAnnie's comment about feeling every little muscle in your body!), and they have a ton of classes so they can accommodate most schedules. Also, there's a limit in participants so it never…
  • I like the skyfit app - it can help you do some interval training which is also really good if you want to progress.
  • Have you looked up Skyfit? It's not a 10K training plan but could help you for some fun running sessions without needing to look up your time all the time or remember what you're supposed to do.
  • Agree with everyone - take it slow! I had laparoscopy a few years ago and recovery was so much worse than what I expected. Just make sure you walk regularly throughout the day just to keep moving and make sure things heal properly, but don't rush into anything. Good luck!
  • If you want to learn to run (couch to 5K or something similar), there's an app called SkyFit. It's like having a personal trainer but for a very small price. They have workouts for running outdoors, on the treadmill, and cycling. It's pretty cool and very helpful if you don't know where to start.
  • Ladies - we used the velcro tube during last night's class and it was SO hard! OMG. Now I'm scared of the platform LOL :)
