Personally, I would recommend just finding a cheap, no frills gym vs. buying your own weights. I like seeing the other people at the gym b/c it's motivating for me. But everyone is different. I second roasting veggies in the oven. It almost gives them a sweet taste. Holy cow, I love roasted cauliflower and broc! Just toss with a little bit of olive oil and salt and pepper. So awesome!

I think one of the kickers is what someone mentioned above...alcohol is metabolized first and then your body starts on the other food you've eaten. I too love my drinks. But this week, I plan on eating clean and drinking clean for the entire week. No alcohol until my free day. Good luck!
