@shanaber, @MegaMooseEsq, @PastorVincent thanks for the feedback. I can't decide if I completely regret my choice in switching (I had a Fenix 5S). To be honest, the Garmin app was pretty awful and I always experienced issues with it. I like the Apple 4 a lot but the app also stinks--editing workouts is a pretty fundamental…

ˆthis I'll never forget my first 15 miler in a total downpour. It made me a stronger runner (and better athlete). I ended up doing most of the training for my first full by myself. While I ended up running that race injured, I finished without stopping (aside from bathroom breaks)--I credit the training in conditions…

it (down)poured today... so another treadmill run. I traded in my Garmin for an Apple watch a few months ago. My Garmin had gone bust and I thought I wanted something more attractive for work (so that I could swap out bands and such). I'm so frustrated with this thing. Does anyone have one? Have you figured it out? Is is…

Today is the first low humidity/low allergen day we've had in awhile in the Philadelphia area. I might actually be able to breathe and run outside today!! Just signed up for the rock n' roll half and am now kicking myself that I missed the discount on June 5. I've been so busy planning my son's end of year party that I…

me too! just joined and pledged

@Elise4270 @shanaber thanks so much for the advice. I did have the hip evaluated shortly after the marathon. They didn't find anything serious. I saw our physiotherapist at school who also then recommended working on building my glutes and rolling, especially after long runs. I find strength training so boring but I know…

I haven't posted here in awhile...perhaps a year. I just finished what was perhaps the worst year of my professional career and I now have the summer to recuperate. I run half marathons regularly but just completed my first marathon this past November. Unfortunately I suffered from a pretty bad IT band injury during the…

I didn't lose much weight breastfeeding (well, it took 15 months!) my first child because I was simply eating too much and didn't accurately track my calories to know that this was the case. (It also didn't help that I had a nutritionist tell me that if I didn't eat enough that my body would go into starvation mode--yeah,…

currently training for a marathon so my workout is primarily running (and then more running). I don't strength train, but I know i should. I work full time and I have two children (one is 14 months old) and so it's a struggle to even get the running workouts in. It's my goal to strength train post-November 2018. Monday -…

I'm a mom to an 11-year old son and 11-month old daughter. I work full-time and I workout at home almost every day. So yes, I agree with you--it can be done. I wake up early to work out or sometimes I take some time after work before I pick up my daughter to get a quick HIIT workout in. I do strength training with both…

I believe it is searchable in the food diary. It basically subtracts 500 calories from your daily intake. I didn't find this to be accurate for me, as I needed to cut more in order to see loss.

I found that I did not lose weight if I went by MFP's calorie recommendations (and then using 500 calorie to create deficit). It didn't work with either of my pregnancies. I really struggled to lose the weight with my first baby (11 years old). I had gained too much weight (60 lb.) and it took me 15 months to take it off.…

Last year, my cousin (who has completed a couple of marathons) ignored a persistent knee pain while running. One day it just gave out and popped. She is now spending the next 12-18 months in recovery after having had two knee surgeries, followed by having new cartilage grown, and another surgery. If childcare is an issue,…

I’ve never experienced a decrease in breast/cup size (32G) and I’ve had two pregnancies and breastfed two children. I hoped they would deflate some after my first pregnancy, nope. I’m 5’8” and I’ve weighed between 125-155 as an adult, not including my two pregnancies. I have a small rib cage and I think mine must be…

Does the zipper (on SheFit) actually stay closed? Would it be supportive for size 32G? I am still nursing and I really need the support. I hesitate to invest in one because of the way they are sized-- they don't have the rib cage with the cup measurement I need.

I'm a runner and I wear size 32G. Panache all the way!

Over what period of time did you gain that amount of weight? Point is, it likely took you much longer than one month to gain 20 lb. Taking into account basic calculations of 3500 excess calories=1 lb., let's assume that you put on .5-1 lb per week by overindulging (for lack of a better term), it's plausible that it took…

wow...you're almost back to pre-pregnancy weight at 8 weeks postpartum. Way to go!

I had one. I found it to be incredibly inaccurate and frustrating. It is a nice looking watch but I returned it within 30 days. I now use a garmin fenix 5s. It's expensive but absolutely worth every cent.

thanks! it's been so rough:(

I try to make vegetarian versions of the meat-based dishes I make for my husband and son. For example, I do lots of chilis or curries loaded with vegetables. I find that I will eat 1/4 of it and then freeze the other 3/4 so that I have rotating meal options in my freezer and at all times. I also have a six month old…

I have it--and like the other poster stated, mine flares up with stress. I also have a rare form of colitis which requires the exact opposite diet as gastroparesis. When both were flaring up at the same time, I was in a bad situation. Like others have stated, I found that eating small frequent meals, getting adequate…

It is undoubtedly a huge shift. An overall increase of 25 lb. in a few decades is actually quite significant. If you think about it, it's actually statistically "abnormal" to be a healthy weight nowadays. It might be "average" size for American women but that's only because the average American (70% at last count?) is…
