Was unable to get mileage in week 3 due to the flu, but I'm starting early this week and fully intend on getting at least 7 miles. 1/23: 2.0 mile walk/run

Week 3 Day 1 completed this evening. I had to take a week off because of the flu, but was able to start on the next week instead of repeating a day of Week 2. It actually felt pretty good and I didn't have any issues with running it. It was also the first time running outside since I started this program, so that felt…

Completed W2D3. Was a bit rough because I did a leg strength routine last night, but nothing I couldn't handle with a slight decrease in speed. As long as I'm able to run when I'm supposed to I'm happy and stay positive.

1/08: 2 mile walk/run on treadmill 1/09: 2 mile walk/run on treadmill 1/10: none 1/11: none 1/12: none 1/13: 2 mile walk/run 1/14: 1 mile walk with incline on treadmill Total: 7 miles I'm hoping that once the run interval time picks up on the c25k program I will get more than the minimum mileage in.

I'm definitely too much of a competitive person to not run when I'm supposed to run during the interval. I'm also a bit of a lazy one if I don't have anything pushing me to try harder. I like doing some of it by speed (as long as I'm capable of running the entire interval) that way I can push myself to improve. Finished…

Week 2 Day 1 done today, but had to decrease the speed slightly. Hopefully the day 2 I will be able to run at the previous speed I was running with the first week. I will also not run 2 days in a row; at least not until I'm a bit more used to running.

I didn't get all 7 miles in last week; I started a bit late in the week and work was overly exhausting. This week I'm starting earlier so that I have more days to work with if I'm tired from work on other days. Awesome work and effort to all of you that met the 7 mile minimum.

Congrats on continuing through the holidays and Way To Go on running your first 5K. Keep up all the hard work and don't stop pushing for a stronger 5K!

W1D2 completed. Now to stave off the motivation/energy drainer called work. I always go into work with all intentions of going to the gym after, but when my 13 hour shift is over I have a very hard time going anywhere but home and to bed.

01/01: none 01/02: 2.0 mile treadmill walk/run 01/03: 2.0 mile treadmill walk/run 01/04: none 01/05: 01/06: 01/07: total 4.0 miles I work the rest of this "week"; hopefully I will have the energy/motivation to get in the last 3 miles.

Completed the first one today. I ran it on the treadmill (not my first choice), but it was colder than I would prefer to run outside. Hopefully this cold spell won't last long so I can continue outside.

I'm Chandalynn from Missouri. I've tried running a few times, but have never been able to keep with it whether it be weather or injury, but this year I'm not going to allow myself to make any excuses. My goal is to run my first 5K this summer.
