You probably did not gain fat. Your body is healing from having wisdom teeth removed, which involves inflammatory processes, including water retention. Even if you did gain 5lbs of fat, at your height and weight there would be no safe way to lose 2lbs of body fat per week. My advice to you is to just get back on with your…

Okay, so I still stand by "don't go crazy" trying to make up for it. I extra stand by it.

You're fine. You ate outside your normal realm, and put on some water weight. Don't go crazy. Just get back to normal. Water weight for me usually mellows out within a week. I spent the last 3 days eating cookies and reading a book. I'm not even thinking of stepping on the scale for at least a week.

I have two days a month where I am insatiable. I try and move a little more. I add more veggies to bulk my meals up for less calories but really its two days. I eat the dang cookie too. I try to stick to maintenance level.

I had right knee pain all the time at 270. By 230, it was gone. However, I just saw my doctor because out of the blue at 190 with no increase in activity or intensity, it's back. He is sending me for imaging - he suspects osteoarthritis and may refer me to PT depending on the results. It's not as much now, you were saying?…

We bought one this summer, and it was 400 for half.

I found it helpful to buy gently used clothing as opposed to brand new.

My goal is 1220 right now, and I eat around 75-100% of my exercise calories back. My goal is so slow because my activity level ranges from sedentary to very active depending on the day - I manage a doctors office.

Second on the coffee suggestion - works much better for me than tea. But really, it's just playing with meal composition and timing. You say you've been drinking "so much more water" but I don't really know what that means in relation to you. If I'm hungry and I don't think that I should be I usually start with a large…

My husband lost 60lbs in about 6 months eating approximately 2500 calories a day and working out not at all. He started around 300, and is sitting in the 240-245 range now. We need more info. Specifically, what are your expectations of how fast you should lose? How much have you lost in how long? 1% of your body weight a…

I've been both the stay at home mom and the only one who works. While I can completely understand your partner needing to come home and unwind for a bit, he needs to respect that you need a break too. And YOU need to verbalize that you need this. For your health, physically AND mentally, it'll make you a better mom and a…

Single servings are wildly inconsistent, and usually on the more than advertised end, not less... The calories listed on the packages are averages. The biggest slap in the face for me was weighing out tortillas. In a pack of 10, not one was even close to on. They were all over by 10-20 grams.

Another vote for a big salad. I will boil up an egg or two if I have room, and a little shredded cheese. If I don't have the room for a dressing I will use lemon juice.

Like weighing, measurements should be done as close to same conditions each time as you can. Same clothing, time of day, etc.
-
I aim to eat half, and that's about the average. I listen to my body though and if I'm really hungry I'll eat all of them.

Breakfast cereal. It doesn't even have to be sugary delicious breakfast cereal. Growing up, we only got cereal on Saturday mornings, and it was a to-do. My dad grabbed a giant bowl, dumped a whole box in it, and grabbed 3 spoons. One for my sister, one for him, and one for me and we would sit and watch cartoons and eat out…

You've resurrected a 2 year old thread.

I lost 25lbs in 4 or so weeks. My resting heart rate rose to 150s and I always felt panicked so I quit taking it. I gained 15 of 25lbs back, but used the 10 lbs as momentum to get smart about calorie counting. I don't recommend it and I wouldn't do it again.

A lot of insurances no longer cover Vitamin D testing unless the patient has a few very specific diagnosis (diagnoses? AHHHH) I don't know why, I just know that the doctors and midlevels I work with quit ordering them entirely because the test runs $80+.

More videos than outside stuff. There is a good mix of stuff on youtube you can access for free.

You're not though. You're either over estimating calories out, or underestimating calories in. I'm guessing both. If you aren't losing, you're eating at maintenance. You can argue it all you want, and keep doing what you're doing, and keep not seeing results. Or, you can buy a $15 food scale, weigh your food for a week,…

Remember, even if 151 is overweight, it's a lot better for you than 228.

I set my goal for the top end of "healthy" for my BMI - 145lbs. I'm going to re-evaluate once I get there, or if that ends up being unrealistic for me, once I realize that. I think if you have a "feeling" or a "look" that is more important to you than that number, you'll be better off.

We did this at work, but wanted to be inclusive of those who didn't have to lose weight. So we did an activity challenge instead. We used step counters and did a team thing over the course of 2 months. It went over so well we're about to start another one on Wednesday. Do something like that. Most steps, Most days within…

Personally, its easier for me to just focus on calories and protein. Has had no effect on loss.

I once told someone, after many times of telling them how I really lost weight over several months and they didn't believe me, that really it was that every morning for breakfast I ate a pine cone that had soaked in cat urine overnight. I think she believed me.
-
Have you taken measurements? There may be a bit of body dysmorphia at play here. It took me around 65lbs to really see how much I had lost myself.
-
Where are you in your cycle? Most women who are still menstruating will see water retention at some point in their cycle. For me It's about 7-10 days prior. I even see a jump, a couple times it was upwards of 8lbs.

My 12 year old is smack in the middle of puberty, and a few years ago had put on the customary chub layer. Nothing bad, she was within normal range, just went wide for a minute. We focused on health. She got a few inches taller, and everything evened out.

I think you've had a rough couple of months, and you should be proud of yourself for giving your little so much. I also think that the hormones between 27 and 37 are significantly different, postpartum and breastfeeding aside. I don't think you have skewed thinking, you're having a different experience than you did the…
