I love this analogy!

Late to the party. You got a great jump start on your weight loss. Use that as motivation to keep going, and use the information you learned here and aim for a slower rate of loss. Be honest about your activity level, eat minimum the number MFP gives you each day, plus half of what your watch tells you you earned through…

The calorie burns include your BMR - the calories you burn existing. I've burned about 500 when I'm up at 6 am, too. The steps is associated from movement in your sleep, it's an imperfect system that doesn't actually go off of steps but the movement of your arm. I'm guessing your initial 1200 calorie burn was because it…

Yeah, it made me ravenous. That's where a lot of my weight gain came from.

Adding: I REALLY like popcorn for a nightly snack because it's versatile if you air pop it, and you can eat a boatload for not many calories. It satisfies that urge to nom.
-
I eat a 100 calorie bag of popcorn or some ice cream every night. Sometimes both! Lost 70+ before getting pregnant, almost back to prepregancy weight again. I buy either Weight Watchers giant fudgecicles, skinny cow ice creams, or walmart has these little ice cream cups like the ones that you used to get excited about when…

No, 1200 has your deficit built in. MFP also assumes that you'll eat back atleast SOME of those exercise calories - a good rule of thumb is to start with 50-75% for a few weeks and evaluate your progress/how you feel.

Yes, make an appointment to see your doctor. The people on these boards are quite knowledgeable, but do not make up for medical training. To answer your question though, if it is under eating, I have heard that women resume monthly cycles once they stop being so restrictive. But you really need to see your doctor.
-
Okay, you like to hand write. That's fine, we just can't see it, and no one can really help you. Are you weighing your food so you know for sure you're at 1500? Almost always the culprit. 6lbs in a week is almost definitely water retention (which you said you suffer from - how much sodium is in your diet?), or hormonal…

Ok... how tall are you, and how much weight are you trying to lose? And second to @malibu927's question, have you seen your doctor?

Guessing age 25 with those stats into scooby (http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/) , I get a TDEE of 1938. I think it's fair to assume that you burned more than 62 calories doing your exercise, so I would say that yes, with activity like that, you can eat 2000 calories and still loose and a reasonable rate.
-
How much do you weigh, and what is your calorie goal?
-
Question, are you wanting to eat 2000 every day, or just TODAY? Because if it's just for today you're worried about, I say go for it. Even if you didn't burn all 2000 today, one day is nothing. Long term, when I work (nursing in family practice clinic), walk, and workout, I can easily get away with 2000 and lose. If I take…

Maybe your fitbit is giving you too much credit? Try eating back only half of your exercise cals. But I agree. Likely water weight from the pulled muscle and the excess sodium. Do you use a trend app like Libra or Happy Scale? After using Libra for awhile, I can almost always guess what my weight is going to be based off…

At 220, I had my activity level set to sedentary, and was at 1400 for 2lbs/week. I added exercise manually and ate half of what MFP estimated my burn was. So really I was probably eating 16-1700 on active days.
-
Also, where are you in your cycle? Week before TOM, I can see an 8lb jump, easy. You'll see it repeated here a lot, weight loss isn't linear. And that chart above is gold.
-
I eat back those earned from intentional exercise, if I am hungry. If I had a busy day running around and got an extra handful, I don't worry about it.
-
I just lolled so hard. If she keeps bringing it up, I would say that MFP worked for me and leave it at that unless she asked more. That's how it started with my work bestie who ended up being straight up best friend. Now it's a lot of "SAY IT WITH ME NOW SHELLEY I DO NOT NEED TO SPEND MONEY TO BE IN A CALORIE DEFICIT".…

If I only have an hour or so to meal time, I find a stick of gum can help tide me over for a bit.

Serious. I lost 70, went from an a DDD to a D, got pregnant and now that I'm breastfeeding I'm back at a DDD. You think they're ridiculous now? Try getting rid of them and then getting them back. These things are ALWAYS IN THE WAY lol.

I work in a doctors office and am normally pretty active. On days like today - the provider I work with called out and I don't have patients to see - I've been known to march in place in the bathroom where people can't look at me funny  One of our receptionists bought this guy, and will peddle all day long.…

They've got young kids, so at this point, when they eat out it's more fast stuff. I never asked her about the fine dining. I'm sure it happens. There are always exceptions to rules. That's her rule of thumb, and it seems smart to me. If there is a quick joint to go to that doesn't post, there is going to be one down the…

A rule of thumb a very fit pediatrician I work with shared with me - if the menu does not have nutrition information posted, she doesn't eat there. She figures in this day and age, if they aren't posting their nutrition information, they must be ashamed of it. I ran with it. So I look things up before going places to make…

My OB told me to not worry about a number. Eat diverse food to hunger, drink plenty of water, and give in to your cravings now and then. You're making a human - if you're hungry, eat! I didn't add any extra calories. I set my goal to maintain. If I was hungrier, I ate more. If I wasn't hungry, I didn't eat them all. I used…

lol @skinnyfatty1983, hit the success stories board and you'll see lots of people who do just that!

Late to this party, but I agree with most of these posters. I lost 70lbs over the course of 2 years - I was pretty on and off - eating what I wanted within calorie guidelines. I got pregnant, put some weight back on during that time, and am now trying to lose that weight while not compromising my milk supply. I've got…

Intermittent fasting is a variant that isn't very low then very high. Don't eat 16 hours a day, eat 8, something to that effect. I'm in the middle of experimenting with IF myself, and am encouraged by the results. Be careful not to endorse VLCD, that's against community TOS. How do you feel this is changing your…

Maybe dispose of the goal weight of 120, and think more a goal "look". Work on body recomposition. You will likely end up still weighing about 130, but be smaller and more toned than you would be at 120. You'll also be able to eat more, which will give you wiggle room so don't feel like your diet is consuming your life.

Late to the party - I do the grocery shopping and most of the cooking. I buy things that he loves that I can live without, and I buy treats for me too because if I can't have a snack before bed life isn't worth living.
