I think it has to do with the way your body is proportioned. I know most of my weight is stored in my hips and butt. So my pants size is always much larger than my top size. At 5'11 and 160lbs I still wear a size 10 US pant but a s/m shirt. Oh, and people lie.

I believe they are accurate for 95% of the population. Lots of people don't "think" it applies to them, but usually it does...unless you have a very low body fat percentage and are very muscular. When I was 5'11 and topped the scales at 193, I was convinced I wasn't that "big", 27 Overweight BMI, yeah whatever. I was tall,…

1. 30 isn't old. You are practically still a baby. 2. I'm sure it's not as bad as you think. 3. Weight loss is 80% how much you eat, 20% exercise. I feel like you are concentrating on the wrong thing. 4. You don't need a gym to lose weight. If you hate it, quit, and find something you like that you will do. 5. Please don't…

Nutella + Spoon :) I joke, yes. Trust me, I'm not an expert, it's never been my issue. But I'd think Ensure would be where I'd start. My Mom went through Chemo about 9 years ago and that's what they said to use to get her calories up...Protein Powder too.

I met my BF of 4 years at work...same level - no superior situation. We no longer work at the same company...but we did work together/live together/date for about 6 months while working at the same company. I'd do it again.

I'm 5'11 and was thin most of my life. Up until about 32, then it all went to pot. But I learned that I ate too much and wasn't doing enough to regulate my weight and I just have to watch. When I started I was 193. I got to 143. Took about 1.5years...I maintain no after 5 years anywhere between 150 & 160. 143 was easy to…

The OP asked "what would you eat for dinner if it only had 500 calories". I took that as "If a big bowl of Spagetti had only 500 calories I'd eat it for sure". Most people didn't read what she actually asked...

Big bowl of Spaghetti with Meat Sauce or Mac & Cheese. It's been 5 years since I've lost the weight and I'd still prefer to eat those 2 things over anything "healthy".

First off, I buy almost the same things every week. Greek Yogurt, Egg Beaters, Variety of Veggies/Fruits (Romaine Lettuce, cucumbers, zuchini, and apples are usually an every week thing), chicken breasts, and Diet Coke. Then I go by what's on sale. Then I get creative and figure out what I can do new with the sale stuff.…

I'm tall and I carry my weight evenly/well. (SW 5'11 and 193, CW 160) I'll look too thin (come to find out my prime weight is 152) I hate exercise I'm tired I'm hungry I'm lazy I love food I just don't want to We all have them. Most are the same as everyone elses. And until you cut the crap you can't move forward.

Cheat Days? That can wipe out a deficient right there. New to exercise, muscles retaining water. I know nothing about 310 shakes. Are you weighing your food?
-
I think you just need to know that salads aren't always the best option (at restaurants, if you control the ingredients they can be very low cal). That being said, I make my own Chicken Caesars with lots of Romaine Lettuce, Grilled Chicken (3-4oz), Tablespoon of Parmesan and Bolthouse Caesar dressing. Lots of flavor,…

Protein and Fat. He'll need to reduce his carbs if he wants to stay full. I don't me go low carb, but maybe swap out the mac & cheese with almonds or Greek Yogurt? I know if I have any carbs early in the day I'm hungry all day...

At 5'10 and 153 10lbs will make a HUGE difference. Trust me. 15-20 will be way too much. And no, it's not going to happen in 3 months. You are a very healthy weight now, so it's gonna be slow. 0.5lbs/week is an average healthy weight loss goal for your size.

I've never tried more than 250. I never thought I needed to go bigger.

Beer. Beer is my alternative to food. :)

I believe the only "diet" or way of eating that works is one you stick to...forever. People say "I lost weight doing this in the past and it was successful". I whole heartedly believe nothing is successful if you have to repeat it. Now, I have to admit, I had to look up this "Body Type Diet" and to even find out what that…

Well, at this point, you are a healthy weight for your height and I'm assuming the 130-135 goal is more "vanity", right? Then, yes, taking a break is a good idea. Regroup and figure things out...I think you need time to heal and get ready for the next step.
-
I didn't when I started. I just knew my starting weight wasn't exactly good...BMI of 27, totally out of shape. I now usually sit between a 22-23 BMI and that's good, I'm happy.

I found while trying to lose weight, consistency made it easier. You knew what to buy at the store, you knew what to prep. It was easy when I single, but now I have to think of what my BF might want in the house. Consistancy is easier when you aren't forcing others to be consistant...LOL I'm sure if he wanted something…

I understand you are impatient and want the weight off now, but you need to start thinking about what happens when the weight comes off. Your body will be used to fasting...and you'll go back to eating normally and you'll gain it all back. You need to find something that takes the weight off, but something you can live…

I'm so tired of people saying these weird diets work...you may have lost weight but if it worked you wouldn't have to do it again. Period. If it WORKS, you never have to diet again because you learn what you CAN eat without gaining it all back. So, it didn't work. How about you learn how to eat/move then these "diets"…
-
You absolutely don't need to lose more weight. Unfortunately you can't do what you want and you can't control where the fat comes off. You need to give the strength training time and maybe learn to love the body you have? I'm 5'11 and when I was 145 I was so thin my BF was worried about my well being...so I'm pretty sure…

I guess the one thing I wish I realized when I started maintaining 4 years ago is that you'll never been perfect. You'll gain some back and that's ok. Having a range of weight in maintainance, something you can live with. At the beginning I beat myself up if I saw even a slight gain...but I realized all I had to do was to…
-
You aren't going to be able to lose weight faster and still do it in a healthy way. And you really shouldn't be eating less than 1200 unless you are REALLY short or elderly. You may have to accept a rate lower than what you are doing now.
-
First things first. When I started out, I never had to diet. I never watched my weight and I exercised because I enjoyed it (took classes here and there). Anyway, something inside me at the age of 30 pretty much said "Yep, you can't eat that". It was a total shock when I got on the scale and I was almost 200lbs (normal…

Before you started did you exercise?

Just make a rule for yourself. No food in front of the tv. Period. I have lots of rules. No work food. No snacking on the couch unless I've portioned and weighed it. I know most people will tell you do something, get up, move around. But you really just need to get out of the habit of eating in front of the TV period.
-
I'm at the point that I define success as my clothes fitting. When I look in the mirror and still like what I see. When I get on the scale once a week and don't want to cry. It never gets easy. It's always going to be hard. And after 5 years of maintainance I'm finally willing to accept that I'll never be perfect.
-
Um, K. Not everyone is the same...I'm 5'11, if I ate 1200 calories a day I'd be so hangry no one would be my friend. If you are trolling for new clients, go away. You aren't needed here.
