That is a tricky thing. You probably should see a doctor, but that doesn't always help. It used to happen to me a LOT when I was younger. I would even sometimes pass out and/or have a seizure. By the time I got to the doctor, they would dismiss it and say it was because I stood up too fast. It almost never happens to me…

This. And yes, sense of humor is super important.

I used to. Getting home early was even worse because the moment my butt hit the couch, that was it. Sometimes I would muster up the energy to go to the gym. After a while, the gym became boring and I'm awful at doing home workout DVD's. Lately, though, I have scheduled a class or training after work most days, so by the…

Our building is square and I try to get up every hour and do laps (inside) until people start looking at me funny. If it isn't sweaty hot outside, I'll also walk the block around our building. Point is, I try to break it up throughout the day.

Time. Its called "low carb flu" and it takes a few days to a week to get past that point. Once I got past that point I felt great - still do!

This is great!

My friend and I went to the movies and my (at the time) favorite jeans started to slip down when I got out of the car and I had to hold them up while I was getting out. My friend looked at me and said "Girl, you need new jeans!! Those won't even stay on!"

I don't think I have any diseases, but before I started eating Paleo I would get hives on my hands and feet every day/night. About a month in, that started happening less and less until I could go almost a month or two without that happening. I decided it stopped because Paleo lol

I'm trying to remember, and I think that starting about 2-3 weeks after I started eating Paleo, I had a meltdown week. I would cry at the drop of a hat, I felt like crap, it just wasn't a good week. Google "Low Carb Flu" - I think that's what was happening because once I got past that I felt AWESOME!

My doctor, who is also married to an endocrinologist, put me on Paleo to lose weight. I got rid of everything in my house that wasn't Paleo friendly and it was easy peasy after that. I did a lot of reading on the subject, and I guess my main obstacles at first were eating out and avoiding alcohol. You get used to both,…

Eggs and veggies (usually spinach plus something else) and a couple slices of bacon.

I have negative calorie adjustment on, and use my Fitbit, and I see the same thing sometimes. My thought is that once we go to bed, we aren't getting any activity so what we eat v. what we burn slows down and MFP adjusts the calories down. My suggestion would be to turn off negative calorie adjustment on MFP if it bothers…

Yes I agree - and like you said, at least you are fluctuating at a lower range than before. So...if you are weighing every day are you writing it down? Maybe if you write down your Sunday weight each week in a different color than the other days, it won't be as frustrating? Otherwise - I hear ya! It is good when you…

I think that if you log everything that goes into your mouth each day, and only weigh once per week, you still can look back and see if you ate something that might have caused your weight to fluctuate. Weighing every day is a nonproductive and extremely frustrating and un-motivational way to lose weight, especially if you…

This is well said, and great advice. Also, specific to the low-carb aspect, two weeks isn't long enough to see if the low carb route is for you - it takes time and research. That two week mark is a rough point where your body is adjusting to having less carbs (tired, foggy, grouchy, achy) and if you have decided that is…

I'm new to this group - starting to show signs, I think. 6 weeks between periods, waking up hot during the night (even though AC says 70 degrees), and out-of-the-blue mood swings/anger over very small stressors/nothing. I'm 46. Looking forward to reading up on the information in this group.

Have you talked with your doctor? Something is off, somewhere, and your doctor may be able to help you figure it out whether it is your exercise, diet, another medical condition, etc. Losing weight shouldn't be that hard.
-
LOL! That's what I was thinking!!

*applause Thank you! I have been in that same "oh crap I'm going to a restaurant for the first time since I started losing weight, what do I do?" situation and was very unsure of myself. Now that I have gotten it under my belt, learned more about the weight loss process and nutrition in general, it isn't a big deal…

Yep the forums are rough. There is a group of folks that like to get all experty about things and demand peer-reviewed scientific studies and use words like strawman and vacuum, and mock folks who are interested in eliminating certain foods from their diets for whatever reason unless it is due to a pre-existing health…

I like my flex alot - like the sleep thingy, silent alarms, iPhone app/PC dashboard, etc. It isn't as accurate step-wise as my zip was, but it's "about" which is good enough for me.

I wanted my Mayo so bad I went ahead and bought it on Thrive...and had to pay shipping. So I guess it is worth the savings if you buy over $50 of stuff but if you have to pay for shipping you're shooting yourself in the foot.

Wow Felicity you look great!!!

I did Whole30 for almost three straight months before I even heard the name! Ha! (i.e. I ate strict Paleo for that long until I realized I could drink wine sometimes...)
-
It sounds like you might have just eaten bad chicken..."low carb flu" is a thing but not on day two...I suppose it depends on what you were eating before v now but that doesn't sound right...

I use Thrive. I get almond butter and cashew butter, cooking oils (coconut, avocado, etc), coconut aminos, tea, etc. I hate going to the grocery store for those things so it is just easier to order them through Thrive. And they have Primal Kitchen Avocado oil Mayo since I can't seem to successfully make my own...lol

Yep. I totally agree.

Moderation...I agree you don't want to store up for when you finish your diet because it isn't A diet, it is YOUR diet.

Doesn't carrying 27lbs around while working around the house count as LIFTING?? lol I think that makes the housekeeping "exercise" - like Extreme Housekeeping hahaha

oh boy! Thanks! Can't wait to try this. I know I don't like pickled beets so I hope this makes them taste good!
