Twice per day: once in the morning before I get dressed and once before I go to bed. I have 150 lbs to lose and like to see how my behavior (diet and exercise) impacts my weight. I don't recommend that everyone does this but it motivates me. My official weigh in is weekly, on Tuesdays.

Start walking, even if you are walking in place at home. I try fitnessblender on YOUTUBE. They have all sorts of workouts which can be filtered by difficulty. Good luck to you!

How is you water intake? I've found that when I increased my water 8 cups a day to about 10-12, I lose more weight. Mind you, I am expending about 400-800 per workout session and work out 6x/week. I too am on 1200 calories and a kick butt multivitamin.
