  • Can't add you. Check your settings to see if they are not set to private.
  • Well done on your son graduating Jen and you must be welling with pride right now :). I can wait to see the photos. Listen to your doctor when he says, "ease back"! You've been wearing the Super Mom cape for many years, give it a little longer for vacation and resonating recuperation. When you put it on again, set it to…
  • Yep! Logging is really important, even if we do nothing else at the moment. Don't worry in another weeks time, the energy and vitality will be back again :D
  • There are people from 7 countries in the group photo. England, France, Algeria,Zimbabwe, Senegal, Jamaica and South Africa. 5 of the nationalities are in my family ;) :)
  • Liz this is a fantastic post. It really fits in with how I am living my life. The affirmations thing was also something I totally battle(d) with but found out that it does work. One thing I came to terms with is that we can and never will be happy all of the time, it is no more a permanent state than being angry or upset,…
  • Love this Marcelle. It's brilliant. And good for you for getting back on track! Liz, also had a quotation that meant keep out unless dying or you have limbs falling off :) Thanks for reminding us about the change of season. It does trigger depression but I didn't recognize my symptoms this time because they are so mild.…

  • I will add all of you when I get back on my desktop. I was chatting to someone on a different site and he was talking about his journey back to health. He started a "Keto Diet" and after three weeks his brain fog lifted and his energy levels increased, he wasn't tired or drained anymore. I am not advocating any diet…
  • Sorry the flamenco dancers disappeared Have a wonderful weekend beautiful people :)
  • Moments from yesterday. My father with my grandson. My son's friends from France and my other boys. Flamenco dancers at the show yesterday. Decadent dessert. ;) a
  • Hi. It sounds like you and a lot of people here are suffering from Major Depression, which is a clinical diagnosis and not weird at all. I was diagnosed a few years ago. In this case dieting, exercise and gaining new healthier habits alone will not help you to understand what is triggering the negative behaviors, nor how…
  • Nice goal Jen. It's amazing how may of us suffer in silence until one of us speak out. One of the things that really helped me to get on to the right track was first of all just to try to eat food. Not chips and gummy bears and to eliminate almost all white foods including milk (easy because I am lactose intolerant. I…

  • If you are sick, your body needs rest to recuperate.
  • The gym machines interfere with the step counter if you are also using a foot pod. Now cannot edit steps or cardio measurements unfortunately. But you can edit mileage and calories sometimes. I'm aaliceinw if you would like to add me. I'm not very active right now because I have my foot in a moon boot.
  • This is where I shifted in the management of my bipolar http://tamingthepolarbears.blogspot.com/ We are very good friends now and his blog has helped hundreds of people. This is more about bipolar itself and not so much about the food but you can ask him questions about food/meds/symptoms and side effects. @Etherlily1 you…
  • I had forgotten to go and read the link Liz! It's a great post. Our own mindset is the biggest factor towards succeeding or failing to reach our objectives. Having the ability to see negatives and turn them into positives also helps when things don't go to plan. I'm battling at the moment because things have stagnated for…
  • This is awesome Liz! Thanks for sharing it with us. I will check the Tips n Tricks because I seem to have missed it when you posted it there. I know exactly what you mean also about not being able to identify what you are feeling. This year is the first time in many, many years that I know most of the time what I am…

  • Go to see a physiotherapist or a podiatrist. I've wasted a lot of money because I didn't want to go and see mine. I've just spent a full week at home away from work with my moon boot back on and it looks like I may have to spend another week off. I was told that a soft tissue injury takes 6 weeks minimum to heal because…
  • I also belong to the online chronic disease community called Patients Like Me. That really helped me life MFP does because I could monitor my moods and symptoms to really see what works and what doesn't and discuss stuff with people in the forums.
  • Hi I'm not sure I am going to be of much help since I stopped all of my meds in December. This time last year someone told me that what we eat also impacts the brain and can trigger to episode of mania. I began changing my lifestyle but still wasn't really paying attention specifically to what I ate but in December I…
  • What is the stop light metaphor Liz?

  • Liz thanks for your everyday happy thoughts and for your kind words. They do make me smile each time :D I usually weigh myself in officially on a Monday because that is when it is done at Curves. It's supposed to be a weekly thing but ends up being once or twice a month, which I prefer. I really prefer weighing myself on a…
  • Here are a few things that might help if you are stuck on a plateau. You may want to set one or two as baby step goals so that you can see if they are having an effect or not. 1) reduce your salt intake 2) try to reduce the amount of processed foods in general, they have loads of added salt and hidden sugars 3) eat…
  • EM Cindy is right about the NSV's. Without them I would have given up right at the beginning. I lose weight at a snails pace. I've only lost 9kg since I started in December and spend most if the time on plateaux. Here are a few other things to consider, which you may or may not have tried. 1) reduce your salt intake 2) try…
  • Nice and truthful motivator.
  • Awesome Liz. You've done a fantastic job in record time. You're amazing! Karen, I'm so sorry about your girlfriends car. That really is a bummer. Do you both have external psychological support? It's not always easy to support each when there is so much going on. Noodle thanks for the well wishes. Have an awesome week…
  • You have the whole day to work some of it off and if you do go over today, you'll get back on track tomorrow as long as you don't repeat today's breakfast of course ;)
  • Hee hee! Sorry! I have to laugh! When did California become it's own country and who is the President there? I'm living in Johannesburg, South Africa so I guess I didn't make the cut! Chuckling still! :D :D :D :D And since you have almost 6k posts, I'm also guessing you posted the question cos you're bored ;)
  • I've missed a couple of weeks of baby steps here and I am actually going to have a full one week break of 0 accountability anywhere. I'm having a holiday from reporting :D I will log in of course but not be working towards any goals at all until Monday 25th May, when I will come back here to set my next baby step goal.
