Why is it so important to hit this deadline? I don't know what the soreness means, but it sounds like you know you could stand to eat more. Try it and see if the soreness goes away.

I'm convinced this can be a mental attitude manifested as lack of appetite. I spent my whole life with disordered eating habits, going back and forth between periods of eating too much and eating too little, and often when I was eating too little, it felt difficult to eat the amount of food I now know is necessary because…

I sent a text ranting about my boss... to my boss... while we were working a shift together.

I think you're doing the right thing getting in touch with the school, especially seeing them in person to talk about it. I think you have a legitimate concern, so there's no reason not to address it. I also see everyone's point about the information being filtered through a child. However, you know your child and are in a…

When you stopped going to the gym in the past did you stop working out altogether or just stop going to the gym to work out? If you stopped working out altogether, maybe it's not that you got tired of the gym, just that you didn't keep up the routine of working out. If you continued working out after stopping the gym, then…

I don't follow the Strong Lifts program, but this is where I learned proper deadlift form: https://stronglifts.com/deadlift/ I also took video of myself to check and adjust my form.

It's not one or the other, a loss or do cardio.. you went a little over on breakfast. You can be on track without being perfect! I'd suggest eating a little less the rest of the day if you're intent on staying within your calorie goal, or just accept that you ate a bit extra. I'm biased, but I don't think exercise should…

@NorthCascades Don't forget Puyallup if we're going down that road..

Thanks for all the responses! I live on an army base in Germany, and I hear about spouses going back home to live in the states while the soldier stays over here for up to three years. I just can't fathom voluntarily spending that much time living apart from my husband. That's all, but to each his own.
-
@happilymegan In what case do you think your partner being in the military would cause you to want to live apart? @newmeadow I'm not sure I understand. If they're being held against their will, where does the choice come in? @tmanfromtexas Do y'all live apart completely, or do you just work away, causing you to be gone a…

When I was a little kid we lived in a place without immediate access to a grocery store, so our shopping trips were always major. I would come home and say I had to use the bathroom and then stay in there until everyone was done bringing in the groceries. I also once tied a string to my light switch so I could turn off the…

@courtneyfabulous Good point! I think when I'm tracking it feels like I'm putting in a lot of work, maybe because I'm trying to be diligent about my macros and other numbers when in the past it was just calories and protein - and maybe because I'm actively wanting to lose weight instead of having a maintenance goal but…
-
@lizery You know, now that I think about it, I can't really remember a time when I wasn't counting calories but wasn't overeating. That opens my eyes to the complicated (dare I say, disordered) relationship I have with food. I wonder if I could do it. @jenilla1 I've always found it easy too. I like numbers and data and…

@courtneyfabulous I don't have an ideal weight, but I have gained maybe 5-10 pounds back since I stopped being consistent. I don't know if it's because I've been leaner that I'm so uncomfortable with this little bit of extra weight, but I'm really wanting it gone. I just haven't been successful with remaining consistent…

Maybe I'll just try a week of tracking calories and nothing else. Maybe a break from the macros will suffice..

It can be done on a iPhone anyway. You just go to "settings" and then "diary settings" and then "customize meal names."

Did he actually tell you he thinks you're attacking his worthiness as a human being or just that he feels you're trying to change him? I suppose it sounds kind of ridiculous to say that changing a person's cooking is like changing the person himself, but at the same time eating is a huge part of a person's life. An…

Maybe try to think of some other goals or indicators of progress, like simply feeling better! Also, when you feel like you can handle it, I think it would be a really good idea to start to try to incorporate the foods you're calling unhealthy and figure out how to get rid of the guilt. If you go all gung-ho and lose the…

I'm definitely not an expert, but I'm thinking that after, say, a steady run a person wouldn't include the extra time that the heart rate was still elevated in the logged exercise time. Just a thought.

I weigh it raw and note how many servings I've made. Then I weigh it again after cooking and divide the total weight by the number of servings I made to get the cooked weight per serving. I figure stuff like that doesn't always absorb the exact same amount of water, so it's good to check it out before and after.

I spent six months struggling, but I never looked at it as quitting or failing. I had a lot of trouble making wise choices, but I never lost sight of my goals. I never gave up. I just struggled. A lot. But I'm back now. It's a lifelong process. I'm not going to be 100% on it all the time. That's just impossible!

I cook tofu in advance because it take a long time when you factor in draining it. I cook rice ahead of time sometimes. Otherwise I just make breakfast and lunch the night before. I was chopping veggies ahead of time too, but I don't really need to anymore. I suppose I don't really meal prep then, other than packing my…

Or are you saying, "squat, girl," encouraging girls to squat?
-
Split squats really made me focus on balance. I think curtsy lunges are good for this too, especially with the barbell. Also ski squats with the barbell. Step-ups with dumbbells; obviously the higher you step the harder it is and the more balance it requires, and focusing on stepping down slowly can make it even harder.

But how am I to know you've just gotten on it unless I'm following what you're doing?

I haven't blended anything in years, so I haven't had the need for a blender. I just ended up putting it in a bowl and stirring it up. It was ok.

I eat Morning Star Grillers Prime because Morning Star is the only brand I can buy here, but I bet the Field Roast ones are delicious! I used to eat their sausages, and they were the best meat substitute I've had.

Didn't blend well.. I think it was a mix of my terrible blender and the lack of added liquid. Maybe just the quark and Halo Top next time. I can only get vanilla and birthday cake right now, and the quark nicely balanced the sweetness of the birthday cake flavor. I don't use protein powder much anyway.. just had a weird…
