I struggled with that for most of my life. It changed when I started lifting and eating at maintenance (or what I thought was maintenance but was really a slight deficit). I sometimes still struggle with wanting fast results, but I really believe the slower you lose the more sustainable it is. Wanting quick results did…

Yeah I think finally practicing bailing a little bit helped, but I don't know because I don't feel totally confident I could bail successfully at 185# or even 175#.. I just don't doubt that I can do it anymore! Thanks! My form felt a bit off on a couple reps, so I was happy to see the video - and to hear your comment!

I won't be taking the week off, but I intend to eat what I want on Thanksgiving and enjoy every bite of it. I haven't decided yet if I'll log. I will be weighing the ingredients of the dishes I'm cooking so that I can accurately log when I'm eating the leftovers. It's just one day though. It'll be ok!

Thanks!

175# has always been my sticking point with squats. I'd done 185# a few times, but that was before I'd honed my form. Now I'm officially hitting 175# for 5 reps consistently! The fear is gone! I know my mind was holding me back. So here's squats at 175# and then squats at 185#. I only knocked out 4 reps, but I picked it…

I'm about 5'7" and 145-150 pounds, and I maintain on about 2100 calories. Everyone's different, but he could be close to the right numbers.

My relationship with exercise got better when I started lifting. I loved getting stronger, so exercise became more about what my body could do than about how it could manipulate the way my body looks. I started to separate exercise from burning calories. I see exercise as being for fitness much more so than for losing…

I don't know if they'd fill you up, but they may be the most delicious microwave meals I've had. I think they're filling. https://www.kashi.com/our-foods/entrees/kashi-entrees-sweet-potato-quinoa https://www.kashi.com/our-foods/entrees/kashi-frozen-entrees-black-bean-mango

I plan the night before. Could you use the time you're having these little binges to plan for the next day instead?

Is this all the time that you're going over or just this week since you haven't been able to work out? If it's just this week, honestly I probably wouldn't worry too much about it. A hundred calories over a day for a week is really nothing in the grand scheme of things. What I find is helpful is to plan out what I'm going…

Yes, and I've actually started portioning it ahead of time! I can't believe I never thought of doing that before now. I'm not sure why quite why it works for me because I could just as easily grab two single portions out of the freezer, but I don't!

Set a smaller goal, one you absolutely know you'll achieve! For example, plan to do one sit up every morning. Choosing something that seems ridiculously small seems like a copout, but getting some successes under your belt can be so helpful. Momentum is a powerful thing! And really, a whole week of perfect eating and…

At my highest weight two different people thought I was pregnant. At least, two people actually aired their views.. who knows how many people actually thought it!? The thing is, I knew I could be mistaken for being pregnant because of where I carry extra weight. I think it was more painful for the people who made the…

I wonder if your goal is too low. I know everyone's different, but as a female around 145-150 pounds I maintain on 2100 calories. Just a thought..

When the hubby and I forget to take them off, this happens..

My biggest challenge when running outside (which I don't do often) is pacing myself. I find it's really easy to run too fast and tire myself out quickly. Just something to think about..

I think if you cut that low you're likely to lose muscle along with fat, and speaking from experience, body composition can make a huge difference. Ideally one should aim to lose fat while preserving muscle. How much weight do you have to lose?

I've found I can eat a really light breakfast and be satisfied for a while, which is awesome because then I can eat more later in the day. I've taken to drinking a cup of coffee and eating 200 grams (about a cup) of cottage cheese for about 140 calories (and 24 grams of protein!). It works for me. As has already been said,…

Try Fitness Blender videos. If you go to www.fitnessblender.com you can search by length of video and difficulty level and a bunch of other things. Their videos are all free and really straightforward. Last I was on there you couldn't make their videos full-screen, so you can search on their site and then look up the video…

Would it not work to weigh the bag of unpopped popcorn before making it, pop it and empty the popped popcorn into a bowl, weigh the empty bag, and then take the difference between the first weight and the last weight as how many grams of unpopped popcorn were there to begin? I'm asking because I just bought popcorn for the…

On average though, women live longer than men.

It's not a video. It's not my heaviest squat. It is, however, my highest volume of squats, and I'm maybe a little bit proud of it. The hubby was crazy enough to do it with me. That's love..

No mad cow disease worries? I mean, I am one, but I don't see a vegetarian diet as categorically better than a diet that includes meat. It's just the diet I choose (and by diet, I mean intake, not like a going-on-a-diet diet).

Maybe you have a skewed idea of what the work is? You don't have to go super-low calorie or work out hard for hours every day. Just eat a little less, and if you can, move a little more. It works!

The deadlifting area is right in front of one of the racks in my gym, and one morning this guy deadlifting saw me put a 45 on one side of the bar and without asking loaded the other side for me, but I don't really think he did it because he thought I needed help. Another time at my last gym this guy left the row machine…

When I'm walking really slowly or haven't actually gotten to the street yet but cars stop for me to cross. I understand they're being nice in giving me the right of way, but logically they should just go. They'd be outta there faster, and I wouldn't be facing my irrational pet peeve. And no, I don't walk faster. They saw…
