I actually got the job I wanted right out of grad school, but I quickly realized I wasn't ready for it and ended up leaving. Now I'm on a tiny military base outside the states where the opportunities are few and far between, and I'm in food service yet again, at least for the time being..

If I get to a point where I keep eating but don't log, I delete everything I've logged for the day. I like to look back on my numbers and use them as data, and I know I won't remember which days were only partially logged.

Frozen foods and other single-serving packages don't necessarily provide an exact calorie count. The food inside can weigh more or less than what the package states, so a food scale is a good idea. More importantly, forgive yourself for overeating, and give it some more time. Results don't happen immediately.

It's possible you'll build a little muscle while losing fat, but as long as your in a caloric deficit you won't gain weight. I don't know the mechanics of it, but I do know you can't gain weight if you're burning more than you eat.

You might be restricting too much. It's good to learn to eat that stuff in moderation to avoid feeling deprived. That's often what leads to giving up.
