I suppose so. But I also know that everyone I know past the age of 30 who is at a weight/fitness level they are happy with spends a little bit of time/effort in their life toward it. So it isn't just people who are trying to actively "lose". It's just more noticeable if you're one of those.

I promise I am not being snarky when I ask this...do you actually know what being hungry feels like? I thought I did. Turns out I was just bored. Or I just wanted the hand/mouth movement to accompany watching tv or something. I wasn't actually empty. I think the answer is different if you are actually hungry/empty vs. if…

That's a sham article that uses 2 certified links to seemingly justify it, even though the links aren't justifying the article claims whatsoever.

It really did. And a few months ago, I'd be feeling like crap right now. Now that I have a better understanding of CICO and how my burn/intake ratio works I can manage things better and realize that 15oz of wine was no worse than if I had had 3 slices of pizza and not worked it off. I can attribute that to better education…

I would suggest you never read anything Joyce Meyer has written...but I digress. You aren't addicted to food in any way - no one is. Food doesn't alter your brain chemical composition lending itself to an addiction. You have a behavioral disposition to food. There are people who have a medical condition that makes them…

Losing fat doesn't mean losing strength. Not sure how you are equating the two?
-
Once upon a time I did. About an hour ago I posted that I spent 366 lunch calories on 15oz of wine...so I don't have those feelings so much now, no. You will get over that guilt. It is understandable. It's all a part of learning how to navigate regular food. Promise.

This thread makes me a tiny bit sad for you. This is someone you've been with for 8 years, and over a span of a short 4 months he's decided that not enough attention is being paid to him so he's making you feel "selfish" that you are working on your health and your body. I've read a lot of your posts, and they are filled…

Guess you're allowed your opinion - but that's judgey as it can be. You don't know that woman, you have no idea of her life or her struggles - and it isn't much your business how she chooses to handle her issue. You do you. Hope your day/life improves.
-
How long have you been without it?
-
I drink TAB - and according to sources (THEY, you know) I should have died from saccharine consumption about 25 years ago.
-
If it's not, adjust your goal weight.

She doesn't have to even turn the invitations down. It shouldn't be so difficult to attend functions just not fall to the peer pressure to partake in the festivities. Hell, you can even fake partaking if you must - but at some point, you need to start adulting and have some accountability for yourself.
-
You're always going to be faced with social situations where you have to put on your big girl pants and eat/drink what you want instead of going with the party flow...that's on you, always.

Normally functioning organs do a fine job of detoxing on their own. As far as bloat goes, being bloated with fat can only be combatted by losing that fat. Start now - it's better than not starting and having more to do once you get back from your vacation.
-
Definitely allow it and log it - if you don't, you're opening yourself up to a potential comfort binge. No reason to add further crap to a crappy time :)

Set micro-goals for yourself. Don't try to eat that elephant in one bite. You just started - work on the first X lbs that you know you can tackle. Then work on the next X lbs, and then so on.
-
I work remotely from home and do a job that keeps me from being able to work effectively from a standing desk (draw/sketch a lot that requires precision stability)...so I have to improvise, which means literally taking laps in my home while on conference calls, doing floor tours for the bathroom (never the same floor twice…

Ah, ok. Well that's using your current weight and plotting out what you determined your goal weight (within some estimated range) to be. It's totally fine if you don't know that EXACT number right now.
-
So here's where we are confused I think - your ticker says you have 148lbs to go and you're talking about 5lbs above/below your goal weight...so what wiggle room are you actually referring to??
-
Are you close to your goal weight? Close enough to be worried about that at this point?
-
Y'all are making this WAY too hard - seriously, you just PRAY. That's it. Just pray. And it happens. Magically. That's it. After you pay for the book and S&H&tithing to be charged to your cc each month as seed money.
-
Why would that be surprising or otherwise to anyone?
-
Based on a very quick Google - it's praying to lose weight, nothing more, nothing less. I suppose it'd work just as well as anything Dr. Oz shucks.
-
Actually, it's not a diet plan based on anything mentioned in the Bible. It's praying to lose weight.
-
I don't eat mine back. I enjoy knowing they are there, but that's it. The fitbit is just there for me as incentive and a reminder to move more and keep track of my progress.
-
Or, don't self--diagnosis something you call a major problem by using a method you heard of on a web forum. See a doctor.
-
And you have 88 more days of this that are not going to be easier. Why pay for that?
-
I am happy to say that I've convinced my family that because I am "watching my weight" I don't "get" to eat their favorite Chinese takeout with them every two weeks. Sorry not sorry. I hated that dreck but would tag along anyway, even if it meant gagging down a dumpling and some egg drop soup. So that has been eliminated…

What sort of transformation are you attempting that is making you struggle on Day 2?
