The reason for the difference is that there are 14lbs in a stone. If you divide 187 by 14 you get 13.35 stones, approximately what you thought. But the 0.35 is a fraction of a stone (14lbs) not a straight 3lbs. To get to the lbs you need to multiply the fraction by 14 which gets you to 5lbs. So 13.3 is right and 13 stone…
