Ate some of my daughter’s very first batch of homemade biscuits (pretty good!), then hit the Y for a little playlist roulette on the treadmill. We got a new puppy, so there may some strolling and sniffing throughout the day. Then, sportsball! Wings, chips, dip, & beer.

Tried to get out of my comfort zone yesterday and go to a Zumba class. Got there, and there was no class! The online schedule was wrong. Oh well. I biked for a half-hour instead. Today was yoga.

On most days, honestly, between 1500 to 2000. Right now I’m at 1581 and it’s dinner time. I have a standing desk and exercise intentionally most days. My husband and I both work at home and are in a family of introverted homebodies. My weekly trip to the grocery store is a big day out and then I cross the 3000 step mark.

I lost my initial 60 lbs on a calculated deficit for my actual weight, and I switched to the method you describe here for my final 15 lbs. It’s slow going, but it is working. I like that this is my forever calorie target (assuming my activity/exercise level stays the same), and I can work on making it habitual.

Could be. Changes in weight definitely affect hormones. I have PCOS and my body will only consider ovulation below 210 lbs. I conceived both of my children upon hitting exactly 207. It seemed to be a fertility on/off switch. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it was changing things for you.

Duluth Trading Company has a style of jeans that are reminiscent of my old Levi’s. Love them. You have to get the work jeans, not the thinner, stretchier “daily” jeans. I’m a 14/16 there, but a 12 at Old Navy.

30 minutes on the treadmill, playing playlist roulette. Slow song = Jog. Fast song = Run!

I know this isn’t the question you asked, but this is a challenging situation where measuring by weight is especially useful/necessary. It’s likely that most olives will have similar calorie counts by weight (assuming no stuffing). And the different sizes and round shapes will mean that a measuring cup will be full of air…

30 minutes at the pool. 1025 meters. Now I have hot coffee and fuzzy slippers. :)

MFP shouldn’t be giving you any less than 1200, so something’s up. Try re-adding your weight and goals so see if that jogs it loose.

I prefer the morning after the kids get on the school bus. But if something blows up at work or I have meetings first thing, I just fit it in when I can in the afternoon.

To clarify: The waist measurement is supposed to be a ratio of waist to height or waist to hip. One of my goals has been to hit the height to waist ratio at which health risks are lowered, which is 2:1. I’m 70 inches tall, so I’m aiming for a 35-inch waist (0.25” to go). I’m also shooting for a normal BMI (14 lbs left).…

It’s snowy and slippery out, so it’s 3m on the treadmill today. I’ve been daydreaming about swimming at the lake this summer. Can’t wait.

You’re losing a half-pound per week. That’s a real loss. Keep it up!

This was mine too. If only I could say the same for the apple pie I put it on. :)

30 minutes in the bike trainer, first thing this morning. I have a tendency to “phone in” trainer workouts, so I set a higher cadence than usual and hopped off every 10 minutes for sets of push-ups and planks.

Wanted to reemphasize the need to get it done at a running store. Big box sports stores won’t be able to provide that service.

Some do, but not all. CT doesn’t.

This took me years to figure out. Getting your hair wet first in the shower makes all the difference. I do use a chlorine shampoo, but probably don’t need to. I also use the shower as an opportunity to acclimate to water temps. I start with warm water, then gradually turn it up to cool. Then I’m ready to hop right in the…

Go to your local running store to get fitted for the right shoe. It’s more about stride and biomechanics than sex. I’m a woman who wears a men’s shoe because it fits me best.

That entry is one of the most egregious. Just verify against packaging or the USDA online database when you can. The trade-off for allowing user to put in new foods is that errors creep in sometimes.

Definitely consider your food choices. I eat 1800, but I still get ravenous if I’ve been eating carbs (of any type) without also eating plenty of protein and fat. For example, I’ve just had lunch. I had whole-milk yogurt with blueberries and some leftover chicken breast for 350 calories. I’ll be satisfied until dinner. If…

44G to 38DD to 34G. I’m smaller than I was but not nearly as small as I’d like to be.

Lol! I appreciate the apology. I think you can un-woo by just pressing it again. :)

I forgot a Non-Scale Victory from the other day! I joined in at a meeting of the running club associated with our local Y. It was freezing rain outside so we worked out in the fitness center. The coach was describing the workout (multiple sets of treadmill miles at increasing speeds and strength work) and asked if any of…

That still seems low. Have you double-checked your settings for height, current weight, activity level, and maintenance goal?

Ran at lunchtime. 3 cold, windy miles.

Enchiladas (made with left-over chili), topped with mole and cheese, served with brown rice.

I’m sorry you’re experiencing that. I’ve never found a way to make that sort of stress OK. Life is too short. I’d be looking for a new job.

It depends on your goals. Lower calories (and/or higher exercise) will cause weight loss. In addition, we all experience different levels of satisfaction with different styles of eating. I like to eat small breakfast, lunch, and snack, and then have a larger dinner. If I combine carbs with protein or fat, I stay full…
