  • Don't think of gaining some weight back (even 20 pounds) as a failure. See it as an adjustment. You learned how to lose weight, but you need to learn to maintain it. Sometimes we have to go off course to know where we want to be. In economics there is the phrase "a dead cat bounce" it's a bit sick but it means that after…
  • Okay week 2! Screen name: IVYLYON Goal for August 31st: 57kg July 22nd (starting weight): 60 July 29th: 59.25 August 5th: August 12th: August 19th: August 26th: August 31st: <<57>>
  • I definitely have. I started July 1st so I've just done day 28. I've lost nearly 3kgs, which is great, especially since I'm close to my goal weight and was worried the losses would taper off. (I also walk daily and of course watch my calorie intake) But I was reading about water weight gain when you start a new exercise…
  • If you've been logging for a while and seeing results the problem is probably not with inaccurate logging. I've heard of water weight gain when starting exercise but don't know how much one might gain or for how long. Would be worth investigating. Do you take body measurements rather than just weighing yourself? Sorry if…
  • Have you tried switching your work out for some yoga/stretching. Helps with the cramps!

  • This covers a lot of seated exercises. They do require some equipment, but much of it you can improvise (use tins or bottles for weights, elastic/tights for resistance bands, a football for a medicine ball) it might be enough to get you started…
  • Sorry to hear you're feeling bad about yourself. It's okay to feel bad about HOW you are, but not WHO you are. Be kind to yourself, but not with food, be kind to yourself by making changes - good choices, moderation and exercise. Seek support when you need it (like you've done here.) Keep positive people close, and ignore…
  • Oh no! Shin splints suck. Hope you recover.
  • Day 24 done. Those jumping lunges are tough and by the last round of cardio I feel like my jumps are slo-mo and I'm barely clearing the ground. But it's tough because I'm getting stronger!
  • This is a British programme (The Truth about Sugar) which gives an overview of sugar and the associated health concerns. It profiles four people with high sugar intakes and how they deal with cutting back, thought the OP might find interesting. Good luck https://youtu.be/ONXNKacNU_4
  • Sounds like a nice life!
  • Day 3, Level 3. Total sweat fest. There's a lot of big movements and my quads aren't quite there yet. Phew.
  • I'm in. I have 2.5kg to my goal, so I want to lose 3 and then maintain, and I REALLY want to be there by the end of August . Screen name: IVYLYON Goal for August 31st: 57.5 July 22nd (starting weight): 60 July 29th: August 5th: August 12th: August 19th: August 26th: August 31st:
  • I think level2 is the toughest. I've just done 2nd day of L3 and it's hard, there are some killer strength/cardio moves, but i didnt find it as much of an increase as going from L1 to L2.
  • You could alternate between 2 and 3. Do two days of L2 and one of L3 and then gradually do more L3 than L2...
  • Did first day of Level 3 today. Went bit slower to focus on form, but overall I don't think it's as much as a increase as going from Level 1 to 2. Level 2 is tough!
  • Ha, yep, I get that. Everything is a little...softer now (I'm 41) It's finding a balance between being leaner and not being too scrawny. I don't want to lose too much from my face and look drawn or (eek) haggard. I think weight/resistance work becomes more important as we get older, not just to.look good but to retain our…
  • ^^^THIS^^^ Weight does fluctuate, which is great to be aware of, but I don't let the "ups" get me down.
  • Keep up the water, esp if you've upped your exercise, you may retain more if you drink less. How much are you looking to lose? 15lbs in 5 weeks is quite a large loss, and it might be that this will slow down a little, especially as your weight gets lower. But you've done really well so far, so don't be discouraged! Keep it…
  • Day 18 done. Not my most energetic effort, but I did it
  • I get what you mean, I'm 5'4" with a goal of 127, which was my old comfortable weight. If i was more active i used to get down to 120, but that's the lightest I'd want to go. Being a bit older now (41) I feel I might not look my best being that light, but I'll see how I look/feel at 127 (CW 133) I think the lightest I've…
  • I'd suggest switching to maintenence while your away. It will give you a few more calories to allow for holiday indulgences, but keeps you in the habit of logging. If you can get through a vacation without gaining then that's a success.
  • 163cm (5'4") CW: 60.5 (133lbs) GW: 57.5kg (127lbs) GW is based on where my weight used to comfortably sit. I'm an athletic build, with boobs and a bum.
  • Great result! Well done, it's a tough work out, but you've had amazing losses. You'll also have gained in fitness and determination. Stick with it (I'm midway on Level 2, and I'm a bit scared of how hard Level 3 will be - eek!)
  • I hear ya! Those squat thrusts! The first day I was like HOW? Now day 4 and I can do them...a bit slower but doing it. The V-raises are also a struggle.
  • CW 135 GW 127 5'4" Last few pounds to go. Add me!
  • I do a kind of fasting (a bit like the 5:2 diet) where I have a fast day, (500-600 calories) once or twice a week. I find it helps to 'reset' my appetite, so when I go back to 1200 calories I feel like it's a lot of food, and I don't feel deprived. Skipping breakfast was always a big diet no-no, but people now are doing it…
  • I'm down to my last 8lbs (3-4kg) I dread hitting a plateau, so I'm keeping my exercise levels up and my calories in check. It's hard but it seems to be working so far. I'm on 5000 kj (1200 calories) it's a decent amount if I'm careful with portions.
  • A bit too small for me currently (hence MFP) - but I have size 6 trousers from Country Road. What the What?!? Even when I'm 'trim' I'm not a 6. I find the whole vanity sizing kind of ridiculous.
  • I'm 163cm and currently 61kg (slightly above my standard weight 57kg) I generally start with a 10/Small and go up or down a size if needed. Some stores, like Country Road I'm more likely to be an 8 (if they carry 6s, I'm often an 8, if their smallest is an 8, I'll be a 10 - one size up from smallest) I buy a lot of vintage…
