Another thing you can do is just eat as much as you normally do for one or two days, and make sure to log every bite. That way you can see how many calories you have been consuming per day up til now. Then just eat less than that amount. If you choose 1lb a week it will probably put you at 1300 calories/day, which gives you 100 more calories/day. And if you throw in 200 calories of exercise, you can eat 1500 calories a day and still meet your net calorie goal.
