This http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-4771/10-Vegan-Sources-of-Protein.html has some great ideas. An almond butter sandwich on Sprouted-grain bread with a glass of non-dairy "milk" is about 26g of protein. Also you might want to try PB2 powder for smoothies 2Tlbs is 6g protein.

My only suggestion is to adjust the lemon juice if you use Greek yogurt. The yogurt is more tart than the sour cream so you may want less lemon. Also salt will help balance some of the tartness so add that before you taste and like someone else said taste along the way

I love to add stuff to my water some of my choices have been: Orange slice, lemon wedge, cucumber, strawberries, lime or grapefruit. Mint is a great idea! I should have thought of that since I add mint to my tea. Maybe other herbs would be good as well... Next shopping trip I am going to experiment!

I have a weight watchers body analysis scale. I love it! (well as much as I could love a scale) It not only tells you your weight but also gives BMI, % water, and other stats. Good for tracking changes. http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/weight-watchers-reg-glass-body-analysis-scale/1016900427 It is low priced…

Hi Marylou, We are in the same boat. My boat was sinking fast so I'm trying new things and getting healthy. I started in January and am focusing on my health not the numbers (or at least I try) I'll add you and we can motivate one another

@mkelson3277 Wow you do have a lot to over come...but it *is* possible! I only have 3 children 2 of which are 18 year old twins. 2 of my kids have ADHD and one has down syndrome so I have a small taste of what you are going through. there is a website http://www.thesneakychef.com/ where they tell you how to "hide" veggies…

@ninthnarnian soups are usually great for low cal\low fat ... I love Campbell's healthy request. My favorites are tomato and sirloin burger. Either one with a grilled cheese sandwich (low fat cheese and pam not butter) add a veggie to the sandwich and you have a great meal. soup 130cal/cup

@bregalad5 Wow that's great and great exercise! Maybe a cooler type backpack? I both love and hate being in a car dependent city (mostly hate). I park as far away on campus as possible and walk back and forth. I always wanted to teach ESL and Germany is so beautiful!

I'm just commenting so I can follow this thread. We eat mostly vegetarian with only occasional meat meals and I'm always on the look out for new Veg recipes.

I'd love to hear what everyone's goals are. It will help me to make mine public (accountability and all) and I might get some good ideas of where to go next... Tomorrow (wed): 8 glasses of water (I struggle with this) and 7000 steps This week: track every bite every day even the not so good ones This month: get past a food…

@dbowen7984 welcome! This group has been great! If I'm honest I have way more than 100 lbs to lose but it is too much to think about so I set m y first big goal at 100 and will reevaluate when I get there. Setting little and big goals helps. tiny daily goals med weekly goals add up to big long term ones! @2run2ski yay! for…

@Bregalad5 I have no advise only sympathy! I'm an adjunct professor This semester isn't bad but I have had some doozys! One semester I worked Monday/ Wednesday until 10:00pm and on Tuesday/Thursday at 7:30 am at a campus over 1 hour away...That meant to bed at 11pm and up again at 5it was awful! But having healthy foods…

It really felt good to log my calories for the day and not have to add that cake on. In the past I would have eaten the cake and just not logged it and that would have meant not logging anything that night. a big gaping whole in my weeks diary. Not this time! Thanks Danielle and inchworm for the encouraging words! Welcome…

I had a little victory I'd like to share. I went to a birthday party tonight and they served cake and ice-cream. Neither one was too appealing (which has never stopped me before) so I ate none of it! Not one bite and I even sliced and passed out the cake. I feel strong and invincible! I know this time is different

We don't have a Tim's where I live and as I hear it I'm really missing out. My fav coffee brand is Community coffee...strong and rich without being bitter! But I have to make it myself and some times it is just more convenient to buy. I have a problem where I get bored of foods way too easily so I need variety lots and…

@saraD72 My favorite starbucks drink is a Venti Iced black tea lemonaide with 3 splenda only 70 cal!! It makes me feel spoiled and not break the calorie bank
-
@bregalad5 I can really sympathize! Unconscious eating is one of my problems...I have my mouth full of food before I realize "hey wait!" you don't do this anymore. hang in there at least you had the calories to spare. I find that one of the worst things for me is when I am trying to watch what I ate only to come home and…

Sorry to hear that @didjaever! As long as the bad day doesn't turn into a bad couple of days you should be fine. Just keep going
-
Welcome @DeeD946 and @vschwgrt1 If you need support you are in the right place! @SaraD72 when I am low on energy sometimes a bottle of water and some protein helps. I'll have maybe 5 almonds ... then set a timer for 20min (time to digest) and get up and move even if just 100 steps in place. It usually makes me feel better.…

@Bregalad5 wow that's impressive! 2 new countries in 5 months They say that even happy moves can cause stress, with stress comes cortisol which makes it a bit harder to take off the weight. That is without finding new things to eat and new places to shop and trying to get in activity. I'm really impressed with your…
