  • I have a Garmin 200 I use for cycling. The calories that are over estimated even with the negative calorie adjustment. My Polar A5 heart rate monitor is more accurate. I don't eat back all the calories and that works well for me.

  • Nothing wrong with eating fast food occasionally, I 100% agree with the above post. I don't weigh my food, I exercise nearly every day and lost 44 lbs. in 120 days. Right now I'm closing in on my goal weight of 218 lbs. and should hit that by July 1st.

  • After one week, I would focus on eating your calories that MFP has set for your height and weight. I cut my carbs the first 10 days and lost 10 pounds but had zero energy. Now after nearly 45 months, I'm still learning about the macro part but I've lost 41 pounds!!
  • Impossible to spot reduce, the only way to reduce the midsection is core exercises/diet and if your physiology generally stores weight in that area there's not much you can do.
  • If you overeat and exercise definitely the weight remains the same. More upper body muscle might be added with layers of fat covering it up. I had a membership at the Y and my weight remained constant even though I was lifting 3days a week and cardio 4-5days a week.

  • I average 6-7 hrs. of cardio a week, my garmin 200 estimates 7000+ calories..definitely wrong. I don't eat back all the calories and I still lose 2-3 pounds a week.
