I know this feeling-especially if it is TOM week (or fortnight in my case) where I retain water like a camel (someone else phrased it like that, I love it) and it plays havoc with the scale reading. Just have to remind myself to keep calm, stick without and I will see the results eventually-I do not want to spend all of…

OP, are you weighing all your food with a food scale? Or going by measuring cups and spoons and what the packet tells you is in a serving? It is very common for people to think they're under eating yet not feeling hungry; most of those people are relying on measuring cups and spoons and packet servings. Once they start…

Yep, it seems everything and anything causes me to retain water; my scale can fluctuate by 5lbs on any given day!
-
Nope. Makes absolutely no difference. Eating breakfast does not kick start your metabolism-and another commonly thrown around one, eating late at night is bad because you don't burn as many calories at night, is also woo.

The main thing that motivates me is seeing all my friends pictures on FB of them rock climbing or running marathons.....I would love to be able to do that! I'm a healthy weight, but so unfit.
-
Ex-secret eater right here too! I would eat an insane amount alone; cheesecake, entire packs of biscuits or packs of large cookies, peanut butter from the jar....could easily pack away 3000 worth of calories in one sitting! So glad I got out of that habit.

Unfortunately guys, losing weight is not going to change the fact that the break up happened. It is highly unlikely that they will see you have physically changed and want to get back together with you, as most break up happens for reasons that are completely unrelated to what you look like. And, if it was a break up based…

Same. One bad day in terms of not hitting your macros is not going to kill you!
-
If they haven't seen you in 5 months and you've only lost that since July then how was she supposed to know you have lost weight? She can't have known to be able to congratulate you. Sure, she could have not mentioned you gained weight, but I'm assuming you have gained weight since you last saw this friend. Truth hurts. I…

Plus, we have had these conversations so, so many times. Would it also be condescending to tell the OP to just use the search function? Can guarantee that none of our opinions on the several hundred threads about it would have changed!
-
Yeah, and when you're totally infertile it makes the whole god damn thing seem even more unfair! IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A PURPOSE!! :p *Edited to say that the whole infertile thing doesn't bother me at all, I'm not looking for sympathy; just pointing out how extra frustrating it is that I go through this every month for no…

TOM has a ridiculously negative effect on my weight loss. I can gain anywhere between 2lbs and 5lbs in water! Plus my appetite goes crazy and I just want to eat, not helped by the fact I am an emotional eater and just want to lie on the sofa with a huge bar of chocolate feeling sorry for myself. Blah. Worst part is, I…

I do admit, that almost sounded like some sort of cheesy TV commercial there (and apologies for the typo's, sneaking in a few minutes of MFP whilst at work-it is a Friday!). I think on the whole, it would probably be a good assumption to make. However, I know I am the an exception. I like my guys with a bit of flab on…

That really does help, thank you both for the suggestions!

I have never, ever thought about exercising to find love. I'm confused as to what you mean by this? Hoping to pick someone up at a gym? Hoping to literally bump into the partner of your dreams on your morning run? Hoping that next time you're at the bar that hot piece of *kitten* will notice your bulging biceps? I would…

The above few posts made me glad I came back to this thread :pensive: Unfortunately I don't think OP is going to respond with which pills she has tried which helped her lose weight, which was kinda the point of this whole, crazy thread. Continue with memes. Oh, and it is now Friday so the 'mean people' are sure to be…
-
Hang on....but the above is exactly what everyone you have been calling out has been saying. So now we all actually agree with you? I'm so confused.
-
You did it once, you can do it again! It can be difficult to get back into it when you have had a break, but with a lot of things, actually getting back into it is the hardest part-before you know it you'll be back on track and it will all seem a lot less scary and impossible. Good luck!

I personally am a 'little and often' eater. And I don't plan when to eat, I just eat when I'm hungry. The only exception is dinner, which I eat with my boyfriend at about 7pm at night as it is the only meal we get to have together (as neither of us do breakfast). I have found that for me, personally, once I get past a…

.....So if they worked, why are you here? OK, some pills may 'dull' your appetite, but are they encouraging good eating habits? Most likely not-the minute you stop relying on the pills and go back to your usual eating habits, you will gain all that weight back, and maybe more. I really don't see how they can help in the…

Ah yes, but I wasn't replying to you, I was replying to OP, as I know that you would know better than to cross-post by the fact you had actually pointed out the cross-posting originally. Apologies, as I said I thought I had made it obvious but apparently not! It's been a long day.

Ahhhhhhh, looks like what us Brits call a Cornish Pasty!! My personal favourites are wholemeal veggie pasties; becoming more and more popular over here, meaning more availability! The calorie count is still pretty high, but so worth it.

Sorry, posting the same topic in two different boards (number 9 in the community guidelines). I thought that sentence with the context of the quote above it was simple enough to be understood.
-
Yeah, I think we all hope that one day they will discover that pill or shake...but i'm sure if they did we would hear more about it :p
-
Honestly, having done this before, I recommend just forgetting about it and eating what you need to, to keep you going throughout the journeying. It is much easier than trying to eat healthy, and it won't do a huge amount of damage. I have never been able to manage it, and have always found it less stressful not worrying…

We don't usually get the 'everyone is so mean' posts until Friday, you're early. Or late :p Of course we, and OP know, it is her choice, and no strangers on the internet is going to change it. But she asked for advice, and some people's advice was 'don't do it'. No meanness about it, just honesty.
-
Wow OP, that is one hell of a difference! Great job :) The only thing I can think of is keep it fun and interesting (new recipes, new fitness activities), accept you will have bad days and keep doing what you're doing. Sounds like you've done a great job so far and just imagine how much you can lose if you continue and how…

I have honestly never heard of Empanadas. I must live under a rock :p

I don't have cheat days now because it would set off a sensation similar to what you describe-once I started eating, I couldn't stop. I would take it way too far and a cheat day would lead to a cheat day x 3, and I would undo all the progress I had made and probably gain a pound or two. For some people, it helps, but I…

You will notice on the forum guidelines which I'm sure you read before posting that this isn't allowed. Plus, I totally read the thread title as 'pandas'. Now I'm disappointed.
