I have a boyfriend who is exactly the same, which can be quite annoying; makes me feel like a fatty the amount i eat compared to him, even when i'm only hitting 1300 calories a day. But, i just have to tell myself that i am doing this for me, my body and schedule is totally different to his and not to judge my eating…

I also work in an office all day-but there are those days where i will do nothing but sit at my desk, and those where i'm running all over the place attending meetings and such. I found a fitbit zip really helped me gauge how many calories i was burning a day, as my activity level is so varied from day to day that i have…

Thanks to another thread a couple of days ago, and never having heard about the Banting diet, i assumed this was a diet where you ate nothing but a cheeky Nando's every day for two weeks.

I had a personal trainer; he was great on the lifting side of things, first time i had ever lifted heavy, and i definitely noticed a difference in my strength and it gave me a good platform for carrying on in my own time at the gym. However, i was looking for something that would set me up long term, and when it came to…

Is there a certain weight you need to be in under to be a pat of the fire services? Maybe it was 'i reach fire weight 20 weeks'. Although, still not a sentence that makes much sense.... OP, what do you mean?!!!!

My ex used to do that; constantly jiggling my stomach, calling me 'tubby' and the like because he KNEW it got to me. I am 5ft 3 and weighed 113lbs at the time, and this behaviour was one of the triggers that led me down the path of an eating disorder. I only realized once i ditched him how destructive it was. I wasn't fat…

I use the calculator on my phone; that way it is easy to subtract or add anything i don't eat, or eat extra, as i go. But meal planning has helped me so much that i would definitely recommend it no matter what method you use!

If people are too lazy to read good advice that could genuinely help them, then that is their problem. Living in the 'SMS / Twitter generation' is no excuse NOT to give comprehensive and useful advice. If people can't be bothered to read it, then they only have themselves to blame when they don't learn anything or carry on…

I used to have cheat days, but i found they were doing me more 'harm' than good in terms of weight loss. So now i don't have them-or at least, plan for them. I have found that if i don't plan to have one, i feel less guilty when i do eventually have a day where i over eat.

I don't know about the math, because i have dyspraxia so am TERRIBLE when it comes to numbers, but i can tell you from experience (wearing a tracker whilst exercising) that using a stationary bike burns a very underwhelming amount of calories compared to the effort you feel like you are putting in (and a lot of other…

You could get some sort of idea of how these boards work before you start posting stuff like this. We are here to SUPPORT. Not to make light of serious eating conditions that people on these boards have beaten or are currently going through. Not to give sarcasm to someone who is asking a genuine question about an issue…

This is what i was thinking too....i would definitely get a second opinion. You say a 'weight-loss doctor'-how is that different 'regular' doctor? It might be worth getting that second opinion from an actual, medical doctor, if there is a difference.

It is very frustrating, and there are so many reasons as to why your weight fluctuates day by day. If you have been sticking to your calorie goal (and weighing your food) and you know it is probably water retention or something then i tend not to sweat it; it's only temporary, and we're in it for the long haul :)

Peanut butter is my weakness; I hate how high calorie it is, because I quite happily will eat it form the jar with a spoon. I could easily gain weight on that.

I don't care that you got flagged for this, and if I get flagged for quoting and agreeing, but I was trying to think of something along these lines. I 100% agree with this statement. *Edited for spelling

Yeah, I've lost a stone and no-one has noticed-im at a healthy weight though (just losing vanity pounds) so I'm not expecting anyone to notice. And that doesn't bother me, because I'm doing this for me :)

The number of meals you have doesn't matter, it is all about calories in vs calories out. You clearly have no idea about nutrition, and i would suggest learning before you make yourself ill. 1200 is the minimum you should be eating to give you the energy you need to get through the day and help make sure your body is…

I full heartedly, 100% agree with you. I am happy to answer questions that people have, reply to friend's statuses and give a 'good job!' to people who post that they have just run 5k, or even 1k. However, as supportive as I love to be, I don't have the time to read people's diaries every night and tell them where *I*…

Wait.....so we're not all mean, trolling, super weight-loss machines looking to destroy other users hope and dreams of quick fixes and easy progress through common sense, and dare I say it, SCIENCE? Damn. Guess I'm on the wrong forum.

Also, how long have you been losing 1-2lbs per week for?

Are you weighing all your food with a food scale?

To fit into all my old clothes again!

I go to bed. I know that my late night snacking isn't my body telling me it's hungry, it is my body telling me I need to sleep, but I confuse it for hunger because I consciously want to stay up longer. But nope, this is my body telling me I need sleep, not snacking, and so I go to bed so I physically can't snack. Or if it…

Sounds like you're getting the idea of it :) Good luck! This lot really is a supportive bunch-blunt, honest, but supportive.

ME.

I can't wait to wear crop tops again. I miss my flat stomach. Actually, I have loads of clothes from when I was a smaller size that I can't wait to fit into again.

I'm afraid no-one is doing any different; the only way to lose weight is to eat less than you burn. Simple, not easy. A lot of people who struggle recommend intermittent fasting, such as the 5:2 diet. However, all diets are just a more regulated way of ensuring you are eating at a deficit. If you don't put the work in,…

Weighing all my food and pre-planning my meals; I eat dinner with my boyfriend so I just save between 400 and 600 calories for whatever that may be, but either the night before or early in the morning I pre-plan and pack all of the food I am planning on eating throughout the day at work or wherever I'm going. It has made…

I have mine changed to times: so I have a 7am-11am, then a 11am-4pm, 4pm-8pm and 8pm-7am; I'm an 'eat little and often' person, and this best reflects the times I tend to eat.

Not real; more of a habit than an addiction. Like most habits, if you abstain or seriously reduce your intake, your body stops 'craving' it. But definitely not an addiction.
