Kids are grown so I haven't bought candy at all this year. One child did bring home a beautiful looking coconut cake today so I had to try it. :s It was very disappointing and easy to avoid even a second bite. What a waste of coconut! I might make some date, cocoa nibs, and unsweetened coconut candy. It's really good.

Years ago I took it for migraines for a month maybe 2. It wiped out the migraines but I had life threatening reactions to it. I list it as an allergy for all medical anything and everything to make sure it's never given to me. I did lose weight (that I didn't need to lose at the time) but almost paid dearly. A nickname for…

I saw Lupe's show last night. I really don't like her husband. He didn't seem to care he was caught or be embarrassed about it. In the beginning she said he couldn't work because he was her caregiver, but what about while she was spending so much time in the hospital? They came across quite poor and maybe him working…

I went back and deleted all my old weights and it still said zero lost or would update to some ridiculous number if I tried to input current info. What finally worked was picking a random date from way before I was even on this site and putting in a starting weight there.

I fit burgers in all the time. They are better made at home. They can also be smaller but still have a weighed portion of the toppings you like and be less calories with better flavor. Low carb - I don't know about low carb buns, but you could have the burger with toppings and no bun. Eat with fork and knife. I try to save…

Oh yes those crackers. The fig and olive flavored one is addicting.

Sauté the (chopped) carrots, leeks and mushrooms in a little butter. Remove from pan. Make a roux with butter and flour then add some (not too much maybe start with a cup) water (milk is better but when/if you have none...) to thicken to make a sauce (season with salt pepper herbs). Cook the egg noodles separately. Mix it…

I use a mandolin to make long julienned pieces of veg and that way I don't waste money on a gadget that only has one use and is difficult to clean. With a mandolin you can also do various thicknesses of veg chips/slices for many recipes. Again it's easier to clean :). Don't cook your zoodles too long or they turn to mush…

If you're looking for that creaminess use cottage cheese or laughing cow cheese (mash it to cream it before adding tuna). I also add various chopped veg like onion, peppers - sweet or hot, cucumber, fresh spinach, pickles, etc. Add in some herbs. Or use the flavored packets of tuna. Some are hideously gross like ranch :s…

When I was young I remember food safety lessons in school. 3 days max for meat items and really anything else that has been handled a lot like fresh cut fruit and veggies and cooked dishes. I often have veg and fruit longer than that if it hasn't been cut or mixed with anything else. Watch enough shows on bacteria and food…

I rarely buy it since it can be hard to find it without sugar and/or vanilla in a lot of stores here. That goes for all the non-dairy milks. I don't like it flavored at all. And you can't use vanilla milk in a lot of recipes because :s . I guess the unflavored unsweetened isn't popular here so it's not stocked much. And…

Trader joes for a lot of my favorites Carly cs (incredibly cheaper meat prices like less than half what other grocers charge), a little at Food Lion since it's close, Target, only a few things occasionally from Whole Foods like bulk items that are still not so easily found, Aldi sometimes depending on their stock and…

I'm in pain 24/7. Some days it's a dull roar in the background (basically I've gotten used to it after 14 years) and I can do quite a bit - even hiking which I love. Other days (like today) I'm screaming with every movement. It's a matter of finding what works for you. I wish I had access to a pool because I know I'd…

I have android and just this week an update to mfp offers restaurant and location info. I haven't used it yet though. I'm in the U.S.

Most people don't eat the peel - well at least most I know. I've been curious and looked up recipes since the peel is supposed to be packed with nutrients. ... Just weigh the part you plan to eat.

You'll have to do the work with or without surgery. I know many that have had wls and only 1 has stayed at/near goal weight. Just 1. She has other life issues so... The rest are a mix of reaching goal then thinking they were done and went back to bad habits and gained a lot back and are now struggling with losing but this…

I don't know what your unhealthy foods are, but many things can be made lower calorie or at least a lower calorie option that tastes similar enough. Skinnytaste.com has great tasty recipes for all kinds of things. It's great for finding new options/versions of many restaurant type dishes Otherwise, fit a small amount of…

If they have a skinny option then it's usually with a sugar free sours mix and pretty good tasting. That is most likely the lower calorie listing you see in the database.

Honey is the best sweetener for yogurt :) Especially wildflower honey.

It's such a habit now for me that I barely notice anymore. I keep the scale in front of me as I prepare food and a lot of the time have my bowl or plate on it as I add things and tare and add and tare. It helped me learn true servings and only a couple things were really disappointing - like cereal and pasta lol. Most…

I just had fish for breakfast. Also had scrambled eggs cooked with broccoli slaw. It was delicious. Does the egg substitute have protein? I know some people do a tofu scramble instead of eggs. 38g protein for mine.

I love the trader joes sprouted bread and also arnold breads. Right now I'm hooked on Arnolds oatmeal bread. I usually get the muliti grain ones. I like a solid bread for most sandwiches. The only time I like white bread is if it's homemade and not sweet. It's hard to find a commercial white bread that doesn't taste like…

It doesn't have to be "breakfast" foods. What you can eat at other meals can also be eaten at breakfast. Even though you don't like eggs have you tried making frittatas with lots of veggies so you don't have egg taste or texture? You can make mini muffin ones ahead of time with whatever veggies you can have as well as a…

I eat a lot of cheese and yogurt and my eczema is better nowadays. I rarely drink milk. I found my eczema flares if I have too much artificial sweeteners, and/or and some other additives we are still sorting through. Soda is definitely a trigger and since I usually have diet Dr pepper, diet coke or diet pepsi then it's…

I repeated last night's dinner - sauteed shaved Brussel sprouts in olive oil with garlic and sun dried tomatoes. Seasoned with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Then I added a lot of shrimp and 2 servings (64g) of bottled general tso sauce. It's so freaking good lol. I would do rice also if I wanted more calories in the…

I find subway easy to fit into a day. I don't worry about salt too much from the meat if I make other good topping choices. I mostly avoid the cheese because I can't taste those calories once I'm done asking them to load tons of veggies. I avoid pickles and banana peppers since those will pack in more sodium. I avoid…

I don't have any flat areas yet lol but my muffin top keeps going through mutations as I lose where one side or the other is smaller. Sometimes it's very noticeable to others depending on what I wear. Most of the time I can only see it with no clothes on.

I kind of gross myself out with other people's cooked food by first wondering how clean they cook - as in cleanliness - germs, bacteria, washing hands, etc., then I wonder if they have something that spoils easily, were they careful to leave it chilled or heated properly at all times. Do I sound like someone that's had…
