Have you tried a lower, but not "low carb" diet? Say carbs around 75-100g/day on one day, then a bit higher on the next, then a bit higher on the next, then drop back to the first day and repeat.

That looks so good. Definitely having steak this week!

The person was likely referring to trans fats and saturated fats. Some trans fats exist in nature, but what is most common is a modification to a vegetable oil making it a solid at room temperature. The modification lengthens the shelf life of the oil and is more convenient due to its longer lasting shelf life - think of…

Around 6:30am, I have a few eggs with some hummus and a slide of ezekiel bread hits the spot. Then I have a little snack around 9-10am and lunch around 12-1pm.

Bariatric surgery or a similar procedure is the only reason I could imagine. Did you hear back from your doctor? I've also though ~1200 is at the bottom of a VLCD.

I've tried ketogenic diets that are high in sodium and saturated fat (bacon, sausage, butter, cheese) and those that are low (grass fed beef, avocado, nuts and nut butters, EVOO, a lot of whole eggs, salmon..etc.) and have found the results are better and I feel much more healthy when I keep the saturated fats and sodium…

I like low carb diets, so I would do the following: First, determine your lean body mass. If you are 233, but are 28% body fat (random %, you…

Yes, I add it to my diet in the form of Vitamin D3 for a variety of reasons. Interesting to hear all of the positive feedback.

Don't worry about it. Obviously you would not want to get all of your calories from carbs, but if you are on a well balanced diet - a balance of fats, carbs and protein that will support your fitness goals, I would note let it concern me.

Let me know if you have any specific questions, I've been into bodybuilding for 20 years and have tried many diets, including those mentioned above. Here are some initial thoughts: Do you know your maintenance calorie level? What is your caloric intake relative to it? If you are very hungry, you may be cutting carbs a bit…

Got one for Christmas and love it!
