Just so we are on the same page… you keep mentioning rice.. Rice is NOT a veggie

I would think that by your stats you are probably quite thin already… Obviously the quantity is unknown but I think you are likely under eating especially if you are "working out very hard"

Trader Joes has really delicious carbonated water that is flavored but zero calories. I personally love water/tea and that is all I drink most days but the carbonated lemon or lime water taste sorta like Sprite/7up minus the sweetness

If you feel it is too low (I do) then eat more and see what happens. You may find you can eat 1500 a day and be more satisfied (and therefore less likely to quit) and still maintain a slow and steady loss.

How would going over on sodium cause you to "lose calories"?

This is what I do. It may help simplify a little for you with TDEE and eating back and all that Jazz. So I set it at sedentary maintenance. Mfp sets my calories for me. So I keep track of exercise and food and by the end of the day have a deficit of 500 calories which sets me up to lose a pound per week. Whether I achieve…

So you're saying you hit 1200 calories per day regardless of if you exercise or not? You need to eat more per day I you are exercising. The deficit is built in at 1200 (which is quite low to begin with) and let's say you burn 200 calories working out. That leaves you netting 1000 which is too low.

I'm sure I am in the minority here. BUT my calories are set at sedentary and maintenance. Instead of worrying about eating back or whatever I just log what I eat and I log my exercise and as long as I am in a deficit of 300-500 calories by the end of the day I am happy.

I think that if you have no energy and are on the verge of illness (or at least feeling like it) that is your body trying to tell you something. And I wouldn't listen too much to people who say that the bigger the calories deficit the better. Yes, you may lose weight more slowly but in order to be sustainable you need to…
-
Curious: you say maintaining 1200 calories a day and 500 burned exercising. Are you netting 1200 or eating 1200?
-
The real question is why bother with 100 calorie pack anything? They usually taste like garbage anyway
-
It looks good, not a lot of super processed foods and lots of micronutrients. One thing I will say is that by not tracking your exercise you are ending up with a NET of calories that is a bit low and in the end it may make you want to go all out like you were saying. Some days you are at 1200-1300 calories and your 1500…
-
You should be eating more. Why oh why would you have it set to lose 2 lbs a week?! I am a 5 foot 8 female and am losing on 1900 a day
-
No. You could likely be successful at a goal higher than 1500.
