Good morning ladies :) @cbabie - At this time of year my kitchen is running over with different veggies as people give them to me knowing I will use them. If it comes into my kitchen, I take it as a personal challenge to use them as I hate to waste food as well. The beef tagine would adapt well for the crock pot. I am…

Hi everyone, I hope everyone's day is going well. I got in my hour of exercise this morning. I a made beef tagine with butternut squash for supper last night. We had it with rice. Hubby and I enjoyed it, our youngest daughter (16) said it would be good without the squash. It had a nice spicy flavor to it. I am not a big…

Ladies, thank you for your kind welcome. @cbabie - That is a good scripture thank you for sharing it, I will try to keep that in mind as well. I often don't think before I put something in my mouth and that has been one of the hardest things for me to try to change. @theslightedgeforever - Yes I need to watch that…

I have been following this thread. You are all amazing women. I would like to join you. I'm Liz, I am going to be 51 at the end of the month. I have never done WW. I have been on my lifestyle journey for two years now. I started in Oct. 2014 at 292 pounds, found MFP in Jan. 2015, got down to 225, derailed the first part of…

They say losing weight is a matter of calories in and out and health is a matter of exercise. Since your exercise is limited just do what you can do, maybe short walks? Are you weighing your food on a food scale, it makes measuring much more accurate. Also stress can slow weight loss. I imagine that your life has been…

When I gained back some of the weight I lost (43 of 67 pounds I still have 90 to go) I told myself that I did not fail, that it was part of the learning process of how to do this right. I found that when I stopped beating myself up for failing, I started to make small changes that were helpful when I was doing well. It…

Be kind to yourself. People are harder on themselves and have higher expectations for themselves than they would ever consider having for another person. We all have good days and bad days. If you have a bad day, knowledge it and move on. One mistake does not undue all the work you have put into it. Good luck!

I am going to cook these Friday for supper. Thank you!

If it is a casserole or crock pot meal, I use the recipe builder, then after I cook it, I dump it into a bowl on the scale and weigh it in grams. Then I divide the grams by servings and put a sticky note on the leftover container with the gram serving size. That way I know how much to weigh out per serving.

Doing a whole family approach can be a challenge. I have always taken my kids grocery shopping and we plan the weekly menu together. If I find a new recipe I want to try, I run it by them and we try it. If it is liked it goes into the meal rotation. The kids now bring me recipes they want to try and they cook them for the…

Many mustards are not high calorie and give a good flavor. There are a lot of different mustards out there. They have way less calories than salad dressing and mayo. :)

This week I walked/peddled 34.7 :) And I didn't eat the whole angel food cake in one sitting, I only ate half of it :s

Condiments like mustard (there are sooo many different kinds) and siracha sauce. I mix different combinations with herbs and spices for different flavors. It isn't too costly either. :)

Give yourself a pat on the back for passing up "a little something". That is a victory! You did good :) It is a day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute thing. Some times we have the victory, some times we have to dust ourselves off and try again. It is suppose to get easier, though for me I think it will always be a bit…

When I was growing up (I'm 50 from a mid size metro area) the fruit and Veg department in the grocery stores were not as big and diverse as they are today. Fruits and veggies were mainly available in season so frozen and canned veggies (that mom over-cooked) were a staple in our house. I remember how excited we would get…
