I eat a tablespoon every day, but I hate the way they get caught between my teeth.

When I stepped on the scale after avoiding weighing myself for months and seeing the number 176 appear.

You might lose water weight from sweating but calories and true weight loss...no.

I'm in for 8 but we'll see how successful. I am down over 30 since Jan 5 so the loss might be a little excessive. I will use the same template that I used for the March Challenge: Name: Don Age: 62 Height: 5'5" Start Weight (1st April): Goal Weight (1st May): 1st April: 8th April: 15th April: 22nd April: 29th April 1st…

^^^^^This^^^^^ I have been going to the gym regularly for years but when it came to walking my dog I would use any excuse to take him for the bare minimum walk. To hot, too cold, too rainy etc. Now through portion control (I weigh everything that goes in my mouth) and walking about 10 km a day I am down almost 35 pounds…

Might I suggest investing in a fitness ball. Mine cost $10. There are 100s of exercises on the interweb that only use this apparatus and most of them are for core strength. Best 10 bucks I ever spent that wasn't on food.

If an important part of your exercise regime is brisk walking the dog, the dog will lose weight too.

I started using a Polar M400 Sport Watch coupled with an H6 HRM strap and have found that for me MFP was underestimating my calorie burn. No wonder I was losing so much weight because I was also following the 1/2 back guideline. Interestingly sometimes the HRM is over what the elliptical states and other days it is under.

Fantastic accomplishment. 137 pounds is still well into the future for me, but it is folks like your husband that keep me focused.

I used to be a nut nut as well but found them way too calorie dense to fit into my goal calorie intake. That being said I still enjoy the occassinal tablespoon of peanut butter with some celery.

I use left over mashed sweet potatoes to make a quick and super tasty dessert: 1 cup cooked mashed sweet potatoes 1 tbsp real maple syrup 30 g chopped walnuts. I eat it cold but this can also be enjoyed warm.

crap I missed a word above: You didn't gain the weight overnight
-
It has been said by thousands before me and 1000s more will say it long after I am gone, but you didn't gain the weight so you have to be patient with your weight loss.

The other night when I got back from walking the dog I noticed that I was severely under my intake goal for the day so I decided to make myself some hot chocolate: 2 tbs unsweetened cocoa, 1 tbs pure maple syrup and 12 ounces of skim milk - 202 calories of maply chocolaty tastiness

I found the Mexican Water Cleanse particularly effective. It is a little expensive for those of us who live in Canada, the Northern US or across the pond but well worth it for that " I gotta go, NOW!" feeling. Maybe next time I'm there I should fill a few bottles and then sell it to all the cleanse-suckers here on MFP.

When I am pressed for time I take a can of diced tomatoes add a can of whatever fish is handy (tuna, salmon, crab or even sardines if pressed) add some diced red bell pepper and dried chili flakes, microwave it and call it Chowder.
