Thanks for the replies guys! I'll be grabbing some bullion cubes tomorrow evening at the grocery store to help with my salt intake.

The other major issue is that if blood sugars are left elevated for long periods of time, it can cause retinal damage. Always be careful with your eyes.

Looks like it's been very quiet on here for over a year. I'm in Relay, MD. Just trying to get back in shape, dropped about 12 lbs so far this year, looking to drop about 30 more. I spend most of my exercise time swimming, but I do a little weight training as well.

I've been swimming 45 minutes a day 4 - 5 days a week, that works out to over 500 calories a workout.

I'm down to 218lb as of today, I started 40 days ago at 230lbs.

I was in the same boat about 20 years ago. Fortunately, they've come a long way with treatment options. The best advice I can give you is learn to be strict about your health at the young age you are now, because it only gets tougher as you get older. Hang in there. There is plenty you can do, you'll just be stuck thinking…

Just looking to consistently swim 4 or more days a week and get my mile time under 40 minutes (I'm a very slow swimmer)

Takes about 3 - 5 weeks to start building up a little bit of endurance.

Yes I did, covered 1500 yards in 44 minutes, which is decent for me, broken into 3 x 500 with 30 second rest between sets.

it would be nice to see this group get a little more activity. Is everyone hibernating for the winter?

Congratulations!
