  • My most recent NSV is hitting a major bump in the road and not letting it derail me entirely and making a rather speedy comeback. This has been unheard of from me for many, many years. Anything, absolutely anything, was an excuse to eat, drink and be miserable. No longer. That is one BIG NSV for me right there. Also,…
  • I've been a full-time working mum with a baby and - I wouldn't give up the morning snuggle time for anything. I do think it would help you no end to regulate bubbas sleeping pattern though but, the 6 - 7am snuggles need not be sacrificed. My eldest was a terrible sleeper and I went through hell, sometimes going to work -…
  • It's very hard - very...but, being consistent, even through a low has meant that they happen less frequently and are no where near as long as they were - and there was a time I thought I'd feel that way forever. I have to echo others - exercising, even when you'd rather just go to bed really does help. Sticking to a…
  • Healthy foods are great but, you can still max out on calories eating 'healthy'. Also, fruit is great but, sugar is sugar no matter where it comes from. You need to track and track accurately - I've had many a mini heart attack when logging food 'How many calories..?' Also - eyeballing food is no good - weighing food is…
  • Many years ago my friend went on a diet. She would eat fruit like it was going out of fashion and I mean serious amounts. She must have read something somewhere about a fruit diet because she was usually a sensible person. It was doing horrible things to her tummy and she would complain to me - I'm not losing weight, I'm…
  • The problem here is your relationship. If she were a friend saying 'Have you tried MFP' or even joking and saying something about her 'Eating her burn' would prob be ok. But, you guys are colleagues and remaining friendly and cordial is essential. You'll either become the font of all knowledge and then consciously or…
  • I would say that as you've upped your exercise, you may need to up calorie intake a little. You could be in too much of a deficit. Your body will try and slow you down, tiredness, to protect itself. Also - make sure you aren't actually over-doing it. All bods need some rest/down time.
  • This is me. True. Actually, I'm here to count my calories, lose a bit of weight and pick up some hints and tips along the way. Not for anything else so, no one needs to know what I look like.
  • I had a band fitted about four years ago. By last Christmas I was the highest weight I've ever been. I put too much faith in the band being the magic wand. It also didn't sit right with my generally cranky personality and I fought it - and this is from someone totally signed up, did all the 'pre' stuff...diet, meetings…
  • Without knowing your height and weight no one can give anything more than general advice. You may be 7lbs from target for all we know, in which case a lb a month is pretty good! I have just done a mega session lifting heavy interspersed with hiit for 90 minutes and my burn was under 300. And I'm a heavy girl! 200 burn for…
  • I've lost and gained a few times and people tend to notice at around the 10% - 20% mark. Although there was one time when I hadn't seen any real change myself. I knew I fitted in my clothes better and knew I was down significant poundage but, hadn't really seen any changes. I walked past a mirror on the wall one day caught…
  • Essex here. This is my first post and (what feels like) 100th attempt to lose weight and feel better. I have about 4/5 stone to lose. I almost feel scared because, to some extent, it's easier to not try than to try and possibly fail again. Going to try and change mindset to 'Better to try and fail than never try at all'.…
