  • Just throwing this in the mix... I had/have Hashimoto's (never sure what to say exactly since my thyroid was removed due to cancer)... but also, I had my Gallbladder removed. Not because of stones. It was 'overactive'. When the surgeon took it out, it was inflamed/swollen. No real diagnosis but 'they think it is…
  • be sure to take it easy after surgery. Your body will need to adjust afterward. I am a couple years out from having mine removed and am able to follow the LCHF diet. I would suggest being conservative with fat right after the surgery and slowly add it back in, but you can still stay away from the high carb food.
  • I sure wish they would come up with a better term than 'Leaky Gut'. Is there a medical term for that?
  • That alone would make my BP high. Good luck.
  • Yay! That must feel amazing. I too struggle with that third day. This time I'm hoping to make it through now that I am a bit more prepared on the 'emotional eating/binging' issue I'm working to overcome.
  • There is a difference between Keto acidosis and having ketones in your urine because you are on a low carb diet. If you aren't a diabetic then it is ok to be dark on the Keto stick.
  • I was just about to post if anyone knew a good book about helping those that have mental/emotional issues with food. I get a few days in and then have a complete breakdown and binge. I'm not hungry. I don't even end up liking the food either( not nearly as good as I thought it would be).. I'm in day 3 (again), and I'm…
  • I do both. I have my max grams of carbs that I watch and a min grams of protein. I use the percentage to 'fill in' the rest of my decisions on what to eat. Everyone has their own way ....
  • I'm still trying. I am really struggling to get through the first three days. There's always a reason.. stomach bug, kidney infection, trip out of town.... birthday. I've been trying to figure out the mental/emotional part so I can get through the sugar withdrawals.
  • From my experience, it isn't worth it. I had two weeks done with success and had a cheat meal... cheat day... cheat week... it never ended.
  • I teach my 9 and 7 year old girls that sugar is what is unhealthy. If processed sugar can be cut out of her food choices and replaced with real food (fruit veggies etc), then she will get the nutrients she needs and will feel full. If it is just the three of you, why not get rid of the junk food in the house and have…
  • I am positive on antibodies for thyroid.., but also high ANA. I started to have similar sounding issues and ended up low on b-12. Pernicious anemia... my b-12 was low (200) but my CBC was ok. The doctor still can't figure that one out.
  • I have hashimotos which lead to being hypo. I also got thyroid cancer which lead to complete removal of my thyroid. So... I go back and forth between hyper and hypo until my dose gets set. Don't settle for 4.8. Find the number in the range that is optimal for you. I still have hypo symptoms at 3. Take your Meds…
  • Yep. I saw some web posts on that. That's actually why I was wondering what the real count would be.
  • I'm not set on it, just hoping to get my digestive system healed up. The doctor said probiotics would help.
  • Truvia has erythritol in it. That is a sugar alcohol. It is an item of debate as to count it as a carb or not. I do not.

  • I did that... I was 4 weeks with no cheats and then had a cheat day... and didn't stop cheating until a year later. I didn't even really like the food either. It didn't taste as good as I thought it would. I think some people can do it, but apparently I'm not one of them.
  • I got and love it! I don't have time to make bone broth at home. I think the one at my Costco is a little different because it is organic 'chicken stock' and does have sea salt in it. I heated up a cup with 1 tsp butter and nu-salt added. Yummy yummy.
  • McDonalds only has Splenda, which I thought was one carb each. I bought Truvia from the grocery store and Costco and take them with me. I have a bottle of liquid stevia from grocery store/Amazon in my Fridge. Some places have a Stevia blend. It is normally in a packet that is green or white with green. Stevia is a 0 carb…
  • I'm with you. This is my sixth(or more) time starting Keto. I'm on day 4, so this time will be better. I have typically failed in day 1 or 2 prior to this. I managed to get this far one other time and I did it for a month then. I changed my water intake this time and I think that really helped me get past the 'Horrid…
  • I use Truvia in hot drinks and liquid stevia in cold drinks. You might need to do one sugar one Truvia for a few days and then switch to only Truvia. Everyone has to figure out what tastes and works for them. This is what worked for me.
  • Perfect. If I had a Chinese recipe I'd post it.
  • My first time, around two week mark I just felt much more Refresed. I'm day 3-again- sigh. So the sugar withdrawals are full force.
  • Smashburger -- it has a Nutrition Customizer web page. http://smashburger.nutrition.gipsee.com/
  • I just looked this up on Amazon and the feedback on it is not good. Too bad, would be nice to have
  • http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10103966/start-here-the-lcd-launch-pad#latest That is the one for the jumping off point to figure somethings out... which can lead to other questions, but good to start with.
  • Fred Mayer has it in the Whole Food/Organic Isles next to the gluten free flour. I found it in the baking isle near the sugars in another store. They all seem to put it in different places. I think all the brands of stevia taste different. I like certain things in hot drinks, and certain things in cold drinks. So be sure…
