I think it has to do with the carb counts... if you look at his list at the bottom, all of the 'eat freely' veggies have really low carb counts and all of the 'eat occasionally ' veggies has higher carb counts. I add a 'food' called sugar alcohol with 1 fiber. Then I just add that food to my diary and increase the servings to match the number of sugar alcohols in what I ate. Then I just subtract the fiber from the total.

It reminded me of another thread concerning the bad press out there for 'low carb' diets and how it keeps people from trying it. I smile that someone rebranded it to appeal to someone like my mom. I'm just happy she is doing it, I don't care what she wants to call it.

It also depends on how overweight you are. If you are close to goal weight then you wouldn't get a big woosh like someone who has 100+ to lose.

I also suggest a trip to an endocrinologist. That is a large shift without medicine adjustments to blame for it and given that the neurologist could tell it was swollen, that is another reason to get it checked by the endo.

I had my thyroid removed because of thyroid cancer. Was yours swollen or did it have nodules? What timeframe did you go from 5.6 to .52? That was with no thyroid replacement?

I have no issues with high fat < 20 carbs a day concerning my gallbladder being gone. Lettuce actually upsets my bowels though(go figure). I didn't do Keto right after my surgery (didn't know about it) but I'd did SAD within a week and that had high fat stuff. The first week, I went easy on the fats.
