Check out what I wrote. Lots of diet/food suggestions that worked for me.
-
I weigh myself every day but only log it here when i've dropped in weight.
-
increase your protein and fat content. I have 4-6 oz of protein at every meal and almost never get hungry/cravings.
-
Not at all. My salads are simply iceberg lettuce, baby spinach and cherry tomatoes. I do measure my oil and balsamic vinegar.
-
i have no plans to ever stop logging.

I'd like to be down to a size 14, but don't think it will happen by summer. I'll be wearing a size 16....three years ago I was wearing a 22/24.

"I simply stated to my husband that if he wanted that kind of stuff he would have to have it outside of the house, and if he did bring it home, he needed to hide it LOL!" THIS!!!! I am SO grateful that my husband is easy-going and totally supportive of me and my weight-loss efforts. If he wants "junk", he will bring in…

I'm an advocate of meal replacement shakes, but not if you can't afford them because they aren't cheap. I make mine with 8 oz of skim milk and 2 tablespoons of powdered peanut butter. I zip it in the blender - and it tastes like a chocolate peanut butter frozen shake....totally Yummy! AND it holds me over until lunch time.…

it happens often, but then I go through lots of "self-talk" reminding myself of how far I've come, how many inches lost, how many pounds, sizes dropped....I often look at pictures from before I started this journey up to present day (almost 60 pounds lost) and I know how much better I look and FEEL. Just don't let the…

"stop eating fast food".... for ME, this was one of the biggest changes. Except for the occasional Subway or Jersey Mike's sandwich, I haven't had any fast food at all. Don't miss it at all. I cut down the amount of times per month that we eat out at all. Also, we went pretty low carb for at least 8 months... For protein,…

i have lost 56 pounds...still have another 25-30 lbs. to go.
-
1. Personal training sessions 2x/week 2. Water instead of soda 3. Increase protein -- and eat 5-6 ounces of protein at every meal

another teacher here. been on MFP for just over a year, but on my health journey for 2.5 years. I'm down 56 pounds with another 20-25 to go. Feel free to add me!! I use a combination of MFP, cardio work and training sessions with a personal trainer 2x per week.

I make a weekly dinner menu and then tailor my grocery list to it. I usually make a huge batch of chicken thighs that I divide out into 5-6 oz portions and put in tupperware to take for lunches. I also bring salad fixings to work to make lunch every day. For breakfast, I drink a chocolate protein shake that I make with…

I got my trainer a gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods. It was a bit more than I usually spend but his birthday was in November so it is a combination gift.
-
i get mine through the gym. It's a chocolate whey protein. I make it with 8 oz. of fat-free milk, 2 tablespoons of powdered peanut butter and ice -- then zip it in my blender. What a wonderfully nutritious morning treat -- and it easily holds me over until lunch.
-
I started with small changes when I made the decision to begin this journey. I hired a personal trainer (not necessary for everyone, but instrumental for me) who started me on working out 2 days per week and we worked to fix obvious issues with my diet. I gave up all soda -- switched out for water. I stopped eating fast…

use the limits set out by MFP for your calorie count. Measure and weigh everything. As for the treadmill, just keep at it. When I started, I could barely do 10 minutes at a speed of 2.5! Now, I can walk for over an hour at 3.2....Just keep on keepin' on.
-
just a few thoughts...are you working a 4 hour or 8 hour shift? If it's an 8 hour shift, maybe plan in advance what you're going to eat there -- then pre-log it and plan the rest of your day around that. Can you keep protein bars in your purse or jacket pockets? Those are great in a pinch! When you have time in the day,…

I've been using a meal replacement shake since about January. I buy it through the gym, but there are probably cheaper options. I get a chocolate powder and mix it with 8 oz of skim milk, 2 tablespoons of PB2 (powdered peanut butter) and ice....then zip it in my blender. Comes out tasting like a chocolate peanut butter…

I'm 5'4" and at 243 pounds while I was heavy, I didn't need an extra seat.
-
for me, the impetus for change was seeing myself in pictures that were so unflattering. I realized, "that's exactly what I look like". It took a couple more weeks for me to decide on a course of action. I hired a personal trainer who worked with me on fitness and tweaking my diet. I've slowly made over my lifestyle and it…

I'm 5'4" and started my weight loss/health journey at 243 pounds. At two years in, I am now just under 190 pounds. With 53 pounds lost, I'm thinking of losing about another 25-30, which will put me in the 160s. Loving the progress!

I'm carb cycling now. Haven't read a book. My trainer has laid out the program he wants me to follow. generally there are 4 moderate carb days (150 grams), 2 low days (75 grams) and a high carb day (225 grams). Ideally, the high carb day should be the day before a hard workout. It's been a challenge for me since I've been…

each week, I cook a family pack of chicken thighs (boneless, skinless) with salt & pepper and a bit of BBQ sauce on top. I then divide them up into tupperware containers of anywhere from 5-6 oz (and write the amount on the top of the lid in sharpie. Mondays, I bring all of them to work along with a bag of iceberg lettuce,…

same as every day. Chocolate protein shake made with 1 cup of skim milk and 2 tablespoons of powdered peanut butter -- all zipped together in the blender with ice....Chocolate peanut butter shake! Yummy -- and helps me hit my protein goal!

Maybe change the batteries. By the way, any scale will give you different readings if you step on it second to second, or minute to minute, or when you step on it at any time. You will not get consistent readings because weight naturally fluctuates. [/quote] there is a difference in readings when weighing at different…

Is there a battery that can be changed?

When I started working out with a personal trainer in August 2013, she worked with me to not only incorporate exercise, but to tweak my diet. The jury is still kind of out on the health issues related to diet soda and she recommended switching to water. For me, it was one of the best changes. I now drink upwards of 72 oz…

i gave up a pretty serious soda habit -- coke and diet coke -- and exchanged it for water flavored with crystal light (iced tea flavor). I only have soda when I'm out at a restaurant or the movies.
