I eat mine with salt, pepper and spice mixes (like Mrs Dash but I like southwest flavors not lemon pepper). Another good way is with salsa. Or roasted peppers and onions on top. Potatoes are my lifesaver. Plus they are sooooo cheap!

I'm torn - on one hand, anything to encourage people to eat less meat is good in my eyes :) On the other - don't give it a stupid label to feel special. If you need to explain what you can eat for someone making you a meal, just say the things!

You just contradicted yourself. If you had kept buying regular sugar but LESS of it, it would be cheaper. You could have kept buying the same meat, but LESS of it. That is where buying LESS food is CHEAPER. Buying different food might not be. You can buy 2000 calories of lean meat, or you could buy 2000 calories of ramen.…

Potatoes are not the problem. The butter, cheese, and sour cream that people tend to pile on top, or the oil people fry them in - that is the problem. Potatoes are low in calories and fill you up.

(And EVERYONE in my office is super obsessed with health/food/diet/exercise)

My Doctor recommended a specific diet for me that is vegan, it's a high-carb low-fat diet. It's based off the diet described in "The Starch Solution". I did it for 4 months last year and lost 40 lbs, the only reason I stopped was I got pregnant and started being lazy with my diet. I was vegetarian during my pregnancy and…

This is the best post ever. A Couch to 5k program is how I went from never running ever to being able to do several 5ks. Now it's been 2 years (and 1 baby) since I did one and I want to get back in it, and from my experience last time I know exactly what to do this time. The reason I never ran before is every time I tried,…

I was always very self conscious until I finally just went and did it. Then when I was running my first 5k I realized that while I did notice the other people I wasn't judging them. There were people heavier than me, slower than me, faster than me and healthier than me - and all of them were just other people running. I…
